A barn attached to a residence in Bridgton went up in flames in a Sunday afternoon fire.

The barn at the Middle Ridge Road residence was completely engulfed in flames when Bridgton fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene Sunday afternoon, according to a Facebook post from the Casco Fire/Rescue team.

The fire spread quickly to the home and an old milking barn before firefighters were able to contain the fire.

The initial burning structure was a complete loss, but minimal damage was done to the main house.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the fire. Firefighters trucked in and used at least 6,000 gallons of water to douse the flames.
