Man sentenced in Maine for assaulting girlfriend

PORTLAND, Maine — A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for hitting and kicking his girlfriend and slamming her head into a car window so hard that it shattered.

Albert Smith of Rochester, N.H., was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland, Maine.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Smith and his girlfriend were at the Indian River Campground in Eliot, Maine, last August when Smith forced her to New Hampshire and back into Maine while he assaulted her repeatedly and slammed her head into the driver’s side window.

He was convicted of interstate domestic violence.

too bad the punishment couldn't be the same as the crime....I'm sure there would be plenty of volunteers that would be willing to administer the punishment....

While I agree [[completely]] with bumpinroad : the bias continues.

Several years ago a Hampden man was assaulted at his camp with a tire iron by a jealous woman - subsequent concussion Et al; the punishment.

Ms. Kirk received 1 Yr. anger management.

But who is surprised.

I hope during that 46 months in jail that Albert Smith gets treated exactly the same way he treated his girlfriend. I am sure the bubbas will think he is cute.

Shouldve smugled dope and booze to kids in jail.Would have got a couple months.Oh wait I forgot he"s a male.I know Im gonna ketch a lot of hell for that.
