Maine woman said to satisfy plea terms

By The Associated Press

AUBURN, Maine — A Lewiston woman who gave her car keys to a man who later crashed the car on a Poland road in 2006 killing six people including himself has settled a charge against her.

Twenty-one-year-old Samantha Renee Montana had pleaded guilty a year ago to a charge of permitting an unlawful use. A judge gave her what’s known as “deferred disposition,” saying the charge would be dropped and she could withdraw her plea if she were to volunteer 100 hours of community service and stay out of trouble.

A prosecutor agreed Wednesday in Androscoggin County Superior Court that Montana had satisfied the terms of the agreement. Montana withdrew her criminal plea and admitted to a civil infraction for her conduct. She agreed to pay a $1,000 fine.

slap-on-the-wrist

2006, must have made her eighteen at the time. They don't have jaded sense that older folks have. Nothing is going to change the facts, and she has to live with this for the rest of her life. I hope she finds the peace she will need. And my prayers for all the families involved in this sad, sad, tragedy.

sooo unclear what was written.........

Why wasn't that judge in Dover Foxcroft charged with allowing an unlawful use? Didn't he allow his intoxicated friend to operate his boat resulting in two deaths?

no no boogyman ,theres diffrent rules for the elite than us peons, peons =manslaughter ect ,,,elite = tragic accident ,peons are a dime a dozen ,,honest judges are very rare

If Judge Stithum had any conscience at all he would step down and resign. However he is a conceited self rightous a-hole who appears to be untouchable by the law he "supposedly" represents. apparently the laws are for people who have no connections to authory.boogyman and olmainer you are dead on about stithum
