Baldacci radio address touts energy corridor

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. John Baldacci says Irving Oil is serving as the catalyst for a Northeast Energy Corridor connecting Maine and New Brunswick. Baldacci says Irving’s willingness to invest has moved the project closer to reality.

In his weekly radio address, Baldacci reinforced the message of cooperation that he and New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham put forth earlier in the week.

Baldacci says Maine can serve as a hub to markets in southern New England that are hungry for clean, renewable electricity.

A first phase could include more than 1,000 megawatts of electrical transmission capacity with a natural gas-fired co-generation plant in Saint John. That’s more energy than was produced by the Maine Yankee nuclear power plant when it was in operation.

Maine can produce electricity for Canada. A handful of politicians and corporate CEOs will get rich. Mainers will pay for it. Gov. Baldaci is a bigger pay to player than Ill.. Gov. Blogo. We are already exporting energy. Stetson Mt. wind farm was built ....the New England Grid was at capacity...so the power will have to go to Canada. Should tax payer dollars subsidize Canada?Notice how we find out what is going on last? Wind farm corporations and Maine State govt. conduct their deliberations in secret. If we had justice the First Winders, Gov. , AG, DEP and LURC would have to stand trial for taking bribes, false documents and fraud.

Two Americas....You can steal a candy bar from Wal Mart and go to jail for up to 5 years. You can steal millions from tax payers and not get re elected. You watch ...in the coming months it will come out that there was no room on the New England Grid for ME wind power. First Wind will be absolutely shocked. The Dept. of Homeland Security sued FERC over the building of Stetson Mt. wind farm....no room on the grid. The First Wind / Enron boys are wrapping up Flim Flam Man II. I think there will be a surprise ending.

Nothing good comes from poor planning. Why build a wind farm when there is no room on the New England grid?

yea and I guess you don't think we need Irving's oil here too. Got plenty of our own ,HUH.

Supply and Demand 101 If we have too much electricity does the price per Kilowatt go down.
