WELLINGTON, Maine — Residents here can expect their tax bills early next month, according to a town official.

Residents at the annual Wellington town meeting March 21 approved a $364,000 budget that reflects a $30,000 increase. That increase includes $13,500 for a full revaluation to be done this year and a $16,500 anticipated increase in school costs, according to First Selectman Marc Pomerleau.

Pomerleau said the mill rate will be set early this week and he expects it will increase a few cents from the present $17.30 per $1,000 property valuation.

The new values from the revaluation will be in place for 2010. Pomerleau said it has been years since the last revaluation.

About 50 people attended the meeting, during which Pomerleau was re-elected selectman. Phyllis Cass and Richard Thornley were elected second and third selectmen, respectively. Also re-elected were Bette Pratt as town clerk, excise tax collector and registrar of voters; Belinda Trafton, treasurer; Vaughn Bussell, road commissioner; and Michelle Ward, a SAD 4 director.
