So all the really perverse teachers are in private schools? How long have you been an NEA teachers union member?

Oh my gosh, here we go again,and again and again! What is going on in this world? As a child in school, we were taught that if we needed help we were to always seek out the help of a "teacher" or a "policeman" or any other adult. Good Lord, these are the people who are committing the crimes. What are we suppossed to teach our children of who to go to if they need help ? As for the bail, what is up with that? There shouldn't even be any bail. This just allows these people time to go out and ruin some more lives until the time of their court hearing. I know that we are suppossed to presume "innocent until proven guilty" but usually in these cases, the "alledged" offender has been investigated for quite awhile before being arrested. Therefore, I think it is safe to assume that the person is guilty. One would think that after all of the cases that have been tried for this offense, that something would have been learned by now, on how to handle these "pervs". We shouldn't have to worry about "stepping on their toes" or hurting their feelings or messing with their "rights". They should NOT have any rights. What we should be thinking about is how to take care of the innocent childrens "rights" and how for the rest of their lives, they will have to deal with what has been done to them, and God forbid if later on in their lives a picture comes up that was somehow overlooked, and not destroyed, and the old wounds are opened up again. Well, I guess the bottom line needs to be, the laws need to be changed and taken more seriously. ABSOLUTELY NO BAIL FOR THESE OFFENDERS!!!!!!!!! Let them ROT. They sure as hell didn't care about the feelings of these innocent babies that they photographed or viewed. What is really ironic is, when you see the report on TV of them being led to or from court, they do the best they can to hide their faces from the camera. Whats the problem guys? Don't you like to have your face plastered all over the screen?

You have never heard of Google? You can research the fact that private school teachers molest children and have been accused of viewing and downloading child porn. It is a fact that private school teachers have been arrested for both and it is also fact that public school teachers have been arrested for both.

Your comment made it sound as if it was a problem only with public school teachers and that no private school teacher would ever commit such a crime which is not true. Both private and public school teachers have been charged with both crimes many times over. A score card is not needed for me to state a fact because it can be backed up with truth.

Mommy_2_B15~ Welcome to the REAL world! You can trust people, it's the devil inside them that you shouldn't trust. Unfortunately in our society, there are family members that are not trustworthy. Grandfathers who have molested their granddaughters/grandsons, fathers who have molested their daughters/sons, uncles who've molested nieces and nephews, neighbors who have molested other neighbors children , and occasionally a woman will also molest... the list goes on and on. I'm not sure how old you are, but I think you've just been reeled into reality. You must be protective of your children and grandchildren and never take it for granted that because you "think" you know someone, they would never commit such an act, because obvioulsy, we just never know.

I had to explain to my child about this man. They sent flyers home to parents, but my child, said they didnt tell him who it was about..not sure how i feel about that. I showed him who it was and he says.."I know him..why would he do that?" I want him to know who he is incase he were to come around..one never knows. What a crazy world...

I agree with BESInAlton. And for the people who feel that he was wrongfully accused come back to reality. More often it is the people that you less except that are doing these horrible things. Michael Douglas was my child's science teacher. My child is beside himself. He loved the fact that the teacher would take these childern outside of the classroom for science projects. That makes me sick with the thought that something could of happened while they were on "their nature walks". The $1000.00 bail is wrong there should not of been bail at all. What our kids have gone through last week with the events on this matter and the crime he has done!!!!!!!! Throw the !$&@%#$ in jail and let him rot!!!!!!!! My kids are in fear of returning to school next week knowing that he has posted bail.

I am so glad he finally got caught! Michael Douglas touched my daughter inappropriately 13 years ago and was let go from his job in a public school. I knew of another case involving him and two young girls at a summer camp. My family lost all of our friends within the community because we rightfully accused this very sick man!
