Man pleads guilty in Maine machete attack

By The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine— A 19-year-old Augusta man who pleaded guilty in last year’s home invasion and machete attack in rural Pittston that left a father and daughter severely injured could serve 50 years in prison.

The Kennebec Journal says Leo Hylton pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of attempted murder and several other charges linked to the May 27, 2008, assault and robbery.

Deputy District Attorney Alan Kelley outlined details of the attack for Kennebec County Superior Court Justice Nancy Mills to support his recommended sentence of 90 years with all but 50 years suspended and 15 years’ probation.

The victims, former legislator William Guerrette and his daughter Nicole, who was then 10, spent weeks in the hospital and both bear scars from the attack.

Great job Mr. Kelley. I just hope the Judge goes by your recommendation.I hope his partner gets the same. The memories of that brutal attack will never leave the dads and little girls life.

BURN IN HELL!

Its about time we see a real sentence for a crime. I hope he spends every second of the 50 years behind bars. Unlike the woman who hit and killed a man then drove away, and hopes to get only 3 years! Come on.

Hi Steve, maybe we could write a book about this one,,,, what do u say? Than into a movie,, blu ray,,, wow

Even if you are not a hunter, This is why you should be armed.

Join your local gun club, get instruction and Practice at the range.

.

Don't be a victim, be armed and ready, cocked & locked.
