‘95’ driver Dorr dies during race
Heart attack claims longtime racer
HERMON, Maine — The local racing community lost a driver at Speedway 95 Saturday night after a heart attack reportedly claimed the life of Addison’s Ikey Dorr.
According to a Speedway 95 press release, Dorr, 56, died of an apparent heart attack suffered during the 11th lap of the super streets regular feature race. Dorr pulled his car to a stop on the front stretch just out of turn four and a wrecker was sent to assist.
Dorr waved them to give him a push, but as the wrecker started pushing, the car began drifting toward the field. The wrecker crew went to the car to see what was going on and found Dorr unconscious at the wheel. The track’s medical team was summoned and when efforts to resuscitate Dorr were unsuccessful, an ambulance was called to take him to a hospital. Dorr was reportedly pronounced dead upon arrival due to a heart attack.
Dorr, who has been racing at Speedway 95 since 1988, had his two sons with him at the track working as part of his pit crew.

Kyle Busch wins Nationwide race
At Gladeville, Tenn., Tenn. Kyle Busch raced to his fourth Nationwide Series victory of the year and ninth overall NASCAR win of the season Saturday night, easily holding off Brad Keselowski and Carl Edwards in the Federated Auto Parts 300.
The 24-year-old Busch celebrated the victory — his 51st overall in NASCAR’s top three series — by smashing the guitar trophy in Victory Lane. He also has three Sprint Cup victories and two Camping World Trucks wins this year.
Keselowski, the race winner last year coming off a victory last week in Dover, was second — 0.891 seconds back. Edwards, a three-time Nashville Superspeedway winner, finished third on the 1.333-mile concrete oval.
Mike Bliss was fourth, followed by Jason Leffler.
Busch led the most laps and avoided a series of wrecks early and midway through the 225-lap race. Busch’s crew serviced his Toyota in a 14.3 seconds during the final round of green-flag stops with 35 laps to go, and he was back in front by lap 202.
Busch led the first 67 laps, with Edwards and Keselowski not far off the pace.
After green-flag pit stops, they found themselves back in their respective positions in the top three by lap 104.
At the halfway mark, Busch opened a 6-second lead over Keselowski before things again turned dicey. Brian Keselowski, Brad’s older brother, spun on lap 114 and on lap 126 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun in turn four, touching off a five-car wreck that took out Jason Keller and Trevor Bayne and brought out the red flag. Keller, who drives for Nashville-based Baker Curb Racing, entered the race sixth in the standings, while Bayne was second-fastest in qualifying.
When racing resumed, only 10 cars remained on the lead lap and only six were there by the finish.
