Police find human remains in a well in Lebanon

By The Associated Press

LEBANON, Maine — Investigators seeking evidence in the disappearance of a young woman three years ago have found human remains in a well near a home in Lebanon.

The remains were discovered Tuesday following an 18-month coordinated investigation by Maine State Police and Sanford police into the disappearance of Frances Moulton of Lebanon, who was 27 when last seen in July 2006. She was reported missing that September.

Stephen McCausland of the state Public Safety Department said the remains were being transported to the state medical examiner’s office for positive identification.

State police divers, a cadaver dog and police detectives took part in the search for evidence at the site off Creamery Hill Road.

Gruesome, scences of CSI. I hope the owner of the remains gets justice.

Poor woman.Condolences to the family.Hope they get some answers.Whoever did it,should get the same treatment.

I wasn't aware that it was already ruled suspicious.....those wells can be nasty

Was this a well that people were drinking from???? I think I just threw up a bit.... yuck. This young woman deserves justice for what ever happened to her. :(

mrwaldo, why would human remains found in a well not be suspicious? this is horrific. god bless the family of whomever these remains belong to.

Citizens- she could have fallen in, etc. It may have been an empty property. It doesn't have to be suspicious.

Deschain, if the remains belong to a young woman who disappeared, Frances Moulton, it is indeed suspicious.

I hope her family gets some closure for this and law enforcement can get some conclusive evidence from the scene.

She was my long time friend. I cant not understand why anyone would do this to her.. I miss her so much, I love you Franny.. BBF..
