Police seize marijuana plants, pills, other drugs in Milo raid

MILO, Maine — A tip from an alert deputy sheriff led investigators to 28 marijuana plants growing in fields near a Lyford Road residence and to the arrest of the homeowner Monday night, the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

Dolinda Doble, 49, of 100 Lyford Road was being held at Piscataquis County Jail on $2,000 bail Tuesday, a jail spokesman said. She was charged with furnishing a scheduled drug and cultivation of marijuana.

Armed with a warrant, four sheriff’s deputies and three Milo police officers searched Doble’s two-story home, detached barn and property shortly after 6 p.m. Monday. They found 11 marijuana plants growing in the garden and another 17 plants in woods on the large parcel — perhaps 10 acres — surrounding the house, Sheriff’s Department investigators said.

Investigators also found and seized 62 methadone pills, 42 of which were packaged in small plastic bags for street sale; several small bags of white powder, believed to be an illicit narcotic; a single “rock” of cooked cocaine; $900 in cash; a Polaris all-terrain vehicle; and three firearms, Sheriff’s Department investigator David Wilson said.

The three firearms were a .38-caliber revolver and two rifles. The revolver was loaded, Wilson said.

The investigation began Monday afternoon when an undercover deputy sheriff got a tip that marijuana was being grown near Doble’s home and alerted his fellow officers. Investigators applied for a search warrant, which was signed by District Court Judge Kevin Stitham, Wilson said.

The officers spent several hours searching the property for the contraband, particularly the marijuana, which was growing at several locations around the property, the investigators said.

Police seized the ATV because it was evident from the fertilizers and other items on it and the tracks around the property leading to and from the illegal plants that the machine was used as part of the marijuana farming, Wilson said.

Investigators might attempt to seize the ATV with an asset-forfeiture civil action, Wilson said. They await testing on the bags of unidentified white powder to determine whether it consists of drugs or drug paraphernalia.

Wilson did not know the street value of the drugs seized.

Doble is due in District Court in Dover-Foxcroft on Thursday.

All for a plant. Then the officials go home and pound the booze. Wonderful.

The thing is, 5forfightin, this is too obvious...booze is legal. Not sure if making your own hooch is though.

Well Bradley Stone was convicted of selling drugs a few years bak and sentenced. His mom lives on the Lyford Road sooooooo am thinking that maybe he owned part of the garden originally and his mom was keeping an eye on it for him while he and his girlfriend are incarcerated and doing time. Makes sense to me. Except that this lady who OWNS the garden got caught. Tsk tsk....nothing good comes from drugs.

Kick the door down, take the house, car, 4 wheeler, guns, money...send them to jail and break up the family...for 28 marijuan plants. High five! You'd be teated better for beating your wife and molesting children.

Glad she finally got caught!! Good job officers, keep up the good work. Take her house, care ATV, guns, money and lock her up. She has been dealing with teens way too long. A DISGRACE TO THE AREA.

Grow pot and a $2000 BAIL, POLICE STANDOFF BY A FELON, FIRING SHOTS AND $450??? WHATS UP HERE????

Why are all the posts gone?

It's like we're typing blind. I miss reading posts

I hear you 5forfight. I think the gays and the stoners need to form an alliance. Stoners vote and help pass gay marriage, then the gay lobby turns its attention to fighting for legalization. We could be talking about a new power in politics and maybe even a third party. I will leave t up to others to come up with a name for the party.

Well ITS ABOUT TIME she got caught!! Good work to the police on this one!!! She has been doing it for way too long she is half the reason the drugs are so bad around here! Now we will have to sit and wait for the other few big ones in town to get caught especially the one's that are getting so brave as to sell to the young kids right on the streets in the middle of the day.

She has been doing this since she wasn't much more than a teen herself . I can't believe this is the first time they've caught her. If the truth be known there are dozens of other dealers in the area. Seemed to me the police were turning their backs when deals were going down. At least that was my observation when we lived in the area. Some so-called high class people too.

I agree duckwa, strength in numbers. It's two issues that the two main political parties dont want to touch with 80 foot pole.

A third party may be needed if society is ever going to see reform on marijuana prohibition and gay marriage.

I think it's the civil rights wars of our times. Gay marriage and pot.

Hmmmm.....how about.....Gay Marriage and Marijuana Consumers United.

if all you people knew she was dealing drugs all that time why didnt you report her? you say on here its about time she got caught shes been dealing with teens way too long and shes half the reason the drugs are so bad around here why didnt you 2 call on her? and if you know the ones dealing to the young kids on the streets in the middle of the day why wait for the cops to see it call on them get rid of the problem!!! i agree with you eastmainer the police do turn their backs on things maybe cause they are too busy hanging out in parking lots chatting with all the teenage girls in Milo!!!!!! Milo a friendly town my a$$ more like a sesspool if you ask me!! nothing but drunks, druggies and child molestors live here and now theres going to be a jail here too making me leave quicker!!!!!!!!!

The first half of your comment says we should have reported the dealers. The second half of your comment is the reason nothing was done about it when we did report what we knew so they must have known what was going on.

eastmainer i was talking about the other 2 people that said they knew she was dealing to kids not you i agreed with you on your comment!!!

ladybg328 there have been a number of people including myself that have voiced their concerns of her dealing drugs along with others! And at the time they said they would look into it. I have also voiced my concerns on a number of other one's who do deal in town. However I really didn't think that I needed or should have said that I reported them when I posted "Its about time she was caught and when I said lets wait and see if they catch the other one's dealing to the kids" I have done my part reporting this to the right people we as citizens of the town can voice our concerns and only do so much and then it is in their hands! By the time the police get there to check on the situation they are already gone, they don't just sit around deal their drugs and talk about how school is going with the kids. If it was that easy to just call report them and have the police come then we wouldn't be having this problem. And I agree the cops do turn a blind eye. When I came on here to say well its about time she got caught I was happy that it was one less we didn't have to worry about seems how I have reported her a number of times. And maybe if your concerned about the police turning a blind eye and talking to the teenage girls in the parking you lot, you should do something about it!!!!

No wonder Milo is a friendly town.

They're all stoned!
