Maine Web site lauded

By The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine's state Web site is being called the nation's fourth best, and a survey ranks Maine at the top of the states for electronic delivery of services.

In an annual competition, the Center for Digital Government rates the Maine.gov site as fourth best in the nation. Maine was also cited for its online library of free, public government data sets that can be downloaded and used for research and analysis.

A survey by Rutgers University and San Francisco State University ranks Maine first of all 50 states for electronic delivery of public service and citizen participation in governance.
