Maine hunter shot as duck season opens

By The Associated Press

CHEBEAGUE ISLAND, Maine — A hunter has been shot on the first day of Maine’s waterfowl hunting season.

The Maine Warden Service said a duck hunter suffered a shotgun wound to the chest Thursday morning on Chebeague Island, near Portland in Casco Bay.

Officials said the hunter, whose name has not been released, was alert while being transported to Maine Medical Center.

The warden service is investigating.

Ducks are shooting back?

i hope he is ok....

Dick Elmer Fudd Cheney at it again.

Haha!

Dang it Cheney!

Take a taxi back to the Dark Side.

Dick Cheney is a great man and a good shot

I'd rather go hunting with Cheney than ride with Ted Kenedy.

For sure... At least when Dick shoots you he calls an ambulace... Teddy on the other hand goes home to take a nap

Is that so? Was it Cheney that called an ambulance?

They werent by themselves when the shooting occured.

I think your assumption is wrong.

I'd imagine the secret service took care of it.

Applied Darwinism.

he forgot to duck

Ah, you guys are cutups and with good senses of humor. At least it was a shotgun wound...he would not have fared so well if it were deer season, would he?

blueskiesaboveme your to easy:)

Teddy K was a drunk Cheney is a great man Almost godly bait thrown can you resist:)

Drink and be merry man.

Teddy stood and fought for the common man.

Cheney stood for Haliburton, war profiteering and torture.

I'll take a shot in the face from Cheney vs a dunk in the pond with Ted any day.

Seriously, I do hope this man is doing well.

Let's just hope that this isn't a example of what the hunting season is going to be like!

I knew you couldn't resist:)

When in Duck season, Do as the Ducks Do...DUCK ! ..

I hope he is going to be OK !

Good thing the legislature's not in session...they'd rush 34 bills into vote to ban hunting.

the hunter safety course did them alot of good

Wolf55 10/2/09 909 AM~ That would be a very interesting story... the statistics on how many accidents have taken place prior to the "Hunter Safety Course" being implemented vs how many, after it was implemented. I believe one would find that it has saved lives though.

Ah, the Kennedy's. The family of bootleggers, blackmailers, womanizers, philanderers, murderers, rapists, lousy drivers and pilots.

Joe Kennedy, the family patriarch, noted for his anti-semitism and view as Ambassador to Great Britain that "democracy was over in England and might very well be in the U.S." He publicly urged President Roosevelt not to come to the aid of Great Britain. Imagine what would have happened if that occurred.

He even had his own daughter lobotomized. Just an all around nice guy who was a major influence on his children.

America is a sucker for soap operas and reality shows.

Such was the life of the Kennedys.

It's not duck season, it's wabbit season!

It wasn't a local who was shot---it was a tourist---it's still "tourist season" ya know!

Hey you guys can find anything to argue about thats for sure...

Hows the fishing Ron?

I will be at my cabin in 2 weeks ready for some fall fishing.. Perch and bass..

Closing the camp up next weekend. Was a so-so year for fishing with the high water. Had one great day on a lttle lake when we hammered the smallmouth.

Amost every fish was over 16 inches and both of us in the canoe caught at least a dozen fish 18 inches or more. No joke.

First time I ever fished that lake. My 90 year old neighbor told me his dad, who was a game warden and registered Maine guide used to go there and

take a certain Red Sox ballplayer there to fly fish for bass.

Went back for a second time and caught almost nothing. Go figure.

I send you a pic of the 24+ inch 9 lb largemouth I caught from my canoe in the East Machias Rver if I can get your E-mail address.

duck... duck... duck... duck...Goose! (BANG!)

Was he lobstering at the time?

Okay, who let Dick Cheny back into Maine???? Lets be a little more careful out there.

Here is an address Ron..

24 inch is a nice largemouth for Maine

There is a lake we were going to fish in the area Wash Cty., suppose to be full of nice small mouth.. I can't even remember the name.My dad knows it.

A guy and his wife from PA always like to fish it. I heard it's full of Stumps.

Is this not why we have a hunter safety course offered before licenses are issued?
