Man caught without his pants in Orono

An Orono man was arrested earlier this month on a charge of indecent conduct after Orono police said they found him strolling sans pants.

After his arrest, Jeffrey Bosowski, 22, was taken to Penobscot County Jail. Bosowski, who since has made bail, is scheduled to make an initial appearance in 3rd District Court in Bangor on Nov. 12.

The episode began about 3:15 a.m. Oct. 2, when Orono police officers were called to investigate a complaint of a loud party at 5 Plummer St., Sgt. Scott Wilcox said Monday night.

After parking their police cars on nearby School Street, Sgt. Scott LaJoie and Officers Derek Dinsmore and Edward Leskey began walking toward the problem address. As they came around the corner from School to Plummer streets, they met up with Bosowski, who wasn’t wearing any pants. Wilcox said.

The officers reported that the man was “extremely intoxicated.”

Getting to the bottom of things proved difficult, Wilcox said. Bosowski couldn’t quite recall where he had left his pants. He also replied, “You stopped me,” to numerous questions posed to him, including why he wasn’t wearing pants and whether he needed assistance.

Bosowski also reportedly smiled broadly during most of the time police were questioning him.

Wilcox said police found Bosowski’s pants in front of 5 Plummer St. and let him put them on before putting him in a cruiser for a trip to the county lockup. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

Two transients face multiple charges after trying to obtain a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and stress disorders last week at a Brewer pharmacy, police said.

Charged with attempted acquiring drugs by deception were Crystal D. Doucette, 27, whose address was listed as the Acadia Recovery Community in Bangor, and Steven J. Pelletier II, 29, whose address was listed as a Brewer motel, Brewer police Cpl. Anthony Pinette said Monday.

Pinette said that Doucette also was charged with possession of a marijuana pipe and that Pelletier was charged with violating conditions of bail from a previous unrelated charge.

The incident that led to the charges occurred on Oct. 6, when an employee of a Brewer pharmacy received a call requesting that a prescription for Xanax be filled for Pelletier. The employee, Pinette said, became suspicious and called the police.

Pelletier reportedly gave his identification card to Doucette, who went to the pharmacy later to try to pick up the prescription. When Doucette arrived, she was detained by Brewer police Officer Amy Nickerson, who eventually arrested her. Nickerson tracked Pelletier to the motel room, where he also was charged and arrested.

Both suspects were taken to Penobscot County Jail. Both since have been released on bail. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

Bangor police summoned a Veazie man who allegedly struck another vehicle in the Bugaboo Creek parking lot Saturday, moved his own car to another row and then entered the restaurant without bothering to tell the vehicle’s owner.

John Bunker, 30, was charged with failure to notify the owner of an accident, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said Monday night.

Reagan said the incident was reported to the police by a witness, who provided Bunker’s license plate number. He said police issued the summons after Bunker left the restaurant to find out why his vehicle was being towed. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

Funny scenario...the guy without his pants on probably was so loaded, he did not know if he had his pants on or not. What the cops "stopped" Bosowski from doing is still a mystery. Smiles can tell a lot of things, huh? I'm glad the cops got to the bottom of things, though. Are we missng more of th story the cops got to?

And what is the "Bugaboo Creek", anyway? You know folks, the funniest things happen over there in Bangor and its surrounds. What a funny life this is.

well i bet they found him a pretty pair of orange pants at the jail. he,ll be doing a naughty nightie at acadia soon!!!

SantiniSpagoandSpike- Bugaboo Creek is a restaurant (steakhouse)..

And a crappy chain restaurant at that.

Kevin77 - I would have to agree, and they are very pricey for the quality of food you get! I do not understand why they are always so busy!

Bugaboo Creek aims to provide a unique experience and that is their niche. The food has gone downhill quickly, as of late.

On a more pertinent note, I hope they ding this student for a couple hundred dollar fine and drop it, rather than wasting local taxpayer dollars in an effort to prosecute and give this kid a record. Clearly, he was drunk and foolish things like this happen. My guess is, the kid was shut out in his last round of beirut and was forced to do a naked lap around the house. It's far too cold to be running around with no pants on for absolutely no reason.

He lost his pants but was smiling broadly...hmmm? odd. Prime example why people shouldn't drink...it distorts your brain in more than one way.

Dang! Whars mah pants?? I thought I felt a draft.

Keep right on arresting people for pot though.

He should have told them he wanted to report the theft of a pair of pants.

he was streaking, however when your intoxicated you stager rather than run, he did have the smiling down pat though.

and as far as the gentleman who neglected or forgot to tell the owner of the car he hit - his defense he was hungry

When at Bugaboo Creek, while sitting under one of the anamatronics, have you ever thought of what might be falling into your food when it moves? Have you? Hmmmmmm

Bugaboo Creek sucks...sorta like being caught without yer drawers whilst hammered.

Sounds to me like he was just hammared. If I was the cop, I would have just took him home.

"I wonder what this guy would have done without his pants and a big grin on his face; maybe, sexually assault someone?"...your condescending assumptions really have you living up to your name, debutante.

I thought Ted Kennedy died?

Maybe he didn't need his pants? LOL

Kudos to the witness who called the police after viewing a selfish man damage another individual's vehicle. I can count many times in my adult life where my unattended car/truck has been scraped or dinged, and not once has anyone owned up to it. Twice, I had to repair my automobile and was unable to reach my insurance deductible. It cost me hundreds of dollars and it wasn't even my fault. Grrrrrr!!

John Bunker will get what he deserves!!

i think he was heading to the food PANTry for new ones

I think his pants are in the Garden near the Credit Union on the Orono University Of Maine Campus, saw a pair of pants in the garden yesterday????

Story 1: The last I knew it wasn't a crime to smile broadly. Going w/o pants yes, smiling no, smiling without pants a little ummm, odd

Story 2: If it is the same Crystal Doucette (which I'm pretty certain it is), she used to work at the YMCA in Bangor, when I worked there (about 6-8 years ago). That's right folks, she was your child's pre-school teacher....

Story 3: All I have to say is ignorance is NOT bliss....ignorance is ignorance

I wonder if the guy had had speedos on if he would have gotten arrested. If he was wearing underwear what is the charge?

Perhaps the "broad smile" was not on his face, but below the equator??? Hence, that may be the new term used for "he didn't have a lick of clothing on below the waist" ;)

That's a letdown. When I clicked on the headline, I was expecting a story about Tim Whitehead.

Geez, what's the big deal about a man with no pants on. Unless he wasn't wearing any underwear, there is no law that says a person cannot be seen in public in just their underwear. It's no different than a person walking around in swim suit or just regular shorts for that matter. The same body parts can be seen whether it be underwear or shorts so what does it matter? If he had raped someone, that is what he would have been arrested for. Who knows, maybe he was so drunk that he passed out and his buddys decided to play a prank on him, took his pants off then shoved him out the door.

"Bosowski also reportedly smiled broadly during most of the time police were questioning him"

Talk about innuendo!

Who reported this, and why are they including it in the story? The wording is prejudicial. Was he simply plastered and grinning mindlessly? Was it a fear grimace (which resembles a full smile)? Was he baring his teeth (a threat gesture)? This wording - "smiled broadly" - implies he was enjoying some secret knowledge, which may or may not have been the case.

Including that description without further attribution seems like poor reporting to me.

Lighten up, ClaireC.

He'll probably get 15 to life for this incident. Unlike the guy who brutally murders his entire family he might get an overnight in the slammer...
