Sea urchin dragger, crew of 3 missing in Lubec

LUBEC — The U.S. Coast Guard was searching Wednesday morning in Cobscook Bay for the missing sea urchin dragger Bottom Dasher after it was reported overdue at 10 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The vessel carried a crew of three men.

Two coast Guard vessels and a helicopter were dispatched to the area, and local fishermen and Maine Marine Patrol boats were also involved in the on-water search. Maine State Police assisted on shore.

A debris field and oil slick were located in Johnson Bay, the bay between Lubec and Eastport.

does anyone know who the three men are

I hope they find them safe and sound soon. My heart goes out to their families....

So sad, prayers for their families. Hope to hear good news soon.

I was told to of the men are Daryl Cline from Cutler & Joseph Jones from Lubec.

I am pretty sure the third person is Norman Johnson Jr from machias area.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families.

I got the phone call this morning and called Jeanie Johnson and found out it was Norman Jr.. She is very upset. My prayers go out to Lisa Jones and also Darrell Clines family. I knew all three people. Norman Johnson Jr. is my ex husbands first cousin. They live in my trailer down in Machiasport Maine. I will keep everybody posted when I hear something. My prayers go out to all the families involved in this tradgedy.

Yugoman, it is Joseph Jones from Lubec Maine, his wife is Lisa Jones, and Darrell Cline is from Cutler Maine, and Norman Johnson Jr. is from Machiasport Maine and lives on the Cutler Road across from Wyman's cove. He lives in my trailer. I knew all three men.

So where are all of the smart*&ss, flatlanders that posted a week ago who decided urchin fishing was "cushy" and so lucrative? Only three days a week and thousands of dollars...what a job huh? Walk a mile... before you open your pieholes again...could ya do that please?

I have a great deal of respect for fishermen and the ocean is very unforgiving to one who gets on the wrong side of it. They have a tough job and love what they do.

A few years ago, I went on a whale watch boat and got sick, couldn't even keep myself in an upright position when standing. Try that sometime... they've got it tough!!

My prayers go out to these men and their families. God bless you all.

My prayers and thought go out to all the families. Lisa i am thinking of you and your daughter.
