DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine —Voters rejected all but one of the five ballot questions Tuesday during a town meeting referendum.
In a 967-761 vote, Dover-Foxcroft residents approved a loan of up to $100,000 to replace the concrete floor and substandard base material in the fire station.
An ordinance titled “Town of Dover-Foxcroft Land Use Ordinance” was rejected 880-740. An ordinance titled “2009 Amendments to the Town of Dover-Foxcroft Subdivision Ordinance” was defeated 890-714. In addition, residents defeated, 865-690, an amendment to the Dover-Foxcroft Comprehensive 2005 Plan.
Voters also rejected a request to borrow up to $300,000 for capital improvements to the wastewater treatment plant and collection system. The loan would have been a match for a $708,000 USDA Rural Development grant.
