STETSON, Maine — A Plymouth man was killed early Sunday morning when he lost control of his car on East Newport Road and it rolled over onto him, pinning him underneath it, Maine State Police Trooper David Yankowsky said Monday.

Deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department found the body of Patrick Haining, 34, under his 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue around 3:40 a.m.

“He was not wearing a seat belt, and he got partially ejected,” he said. “The car ended up rolling on top of him.”

The vehicle was on its roof along the side of the road about a mile from Route 143, Yankowsky said. Haining was traveling toward Bangor when the accident happened.

“He lost control for some reason and rolled,” he said.

Deputies were in the area “investigating an incident between Patrick and his girlfriend,” which was reported around 3 a.m., Yankowsky said. When deputies arrived, “Patrick had already left. They spoke to the girlfriend and started looking for Patrick” to question him when they found his overturned car.

The deputies then called Maine State Police to investigate the fatality.

As with any fatal crash, police had Haining’s blood tested to see whether alcohol or drugs played a part. Those test results will not be available for weeks.

CELL PHONE?

mytwocents : good point !

You guys read the article? Or is it too early in the mornng..... 3 AM... fight with girlfriend.... ejaculated from car.... surely just came from a wine tasting.

what makes you think he was on the phone. Not everyone has a cell phone !

Moral of the story: Never get in a vehicle and drive when you are upset.

I feel for this man's family and send my sincere condolences to them.

Amazed,

What do you suggest? Keep arguing until it escalates into a domestic assault?

I think there are other, more obvious "Morals" in this story.

bubbalouie: although it is pretty unimportant: i believe he was "ejected" from the car, not "ejaculated." two very different words.

How do you get ejaculated from a car? This story's getting better all the time, this is how rumors get started!!LOL

HAHAHa... reading down the comments I was starting to wonder if I were the only one who caught that...

A Freudian slip perhaps? :)

im patricks girlfriend's daughter in law and i was there that night with her son. he DONT have a damn cell phone!. It was Pat's birthday for christ sake and he got into an argument so he took off, and it's a hard thing for his family right now and not to mention he had a 2 YEAR OLD baby daughter. so the laughing matters about this and the accusations are rediculous. have some respect please to whoever writes.. family has and will see the at some point and im sure they dont want to read retarted laughing matters on this becuase everyone is taking this very hard.

good point emily. Another cold heartless comment from the balcony. Sorry about the loss may the family have peace.
