Swine flu vaccine need widens in Maine

By The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine's health director says the need for swine flu vaccine is widening as the disease spreads throughout the state.

Dora Ann Mills of the state Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that the shortage is very frustrating for those who want the vaccine. Mills says there's only enough vaccine for less than two-thirds of high-priority people who need it, including pregnant women and children.

In her weekly update, Mills said the state's expected to have a total of 210,400 doses of vaccine by tomorrow. She said 50 people have been hospitalized in the last week, half of them children.

Mills says it's not clear when the disease will peak in Maine, but she hopes it'll be in the next couple of weeks.

I went to EMMC and its cafeteria yesterday and breathed in a few times in order to try to build up antibodies.

Dave, licking the public toilet at Wal-Mart is a good builder of the immunity system.....

Thanks for the info tele ;)

I won't need the vaccine. I'm recovering from the swine flu now. I've had better weeks....By the time they get enough swine flu vaccine in Maine to make a difference, they'll find they have a shortage for the seasonal vaccine. What a mess.

Increasing numbers of scientists and doctors are issuing harsh criticisms of the government’s plan to vaccinate virtually the entire U.S. population with a poorly tested vaccine that is not only ineffective against swine flu, but could cripple and even kill many more people than it helps.

The CDC’s public relations campaign has been running “scare” ads that portray swine flu as a full-blown “pandemic” responsible for snuffing out countless lives. But scientists and health officials throughout the world have called the governments claims unjustified and deliberately misleading.

the British Neurological Surveillance Unit (BNSU) warned of “the Government’s concern about releasing a vaccine of unknown safety.” and has alerted its members to be on the alert for an up to 8-fold increase in Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) due to the Vaccines that are the subject of this Petition.

their are many of our children that have it or had it and we didn't even know it, i took my child in yesterday had same symptoms as a sinus infection but with a real violent cough, no tests done diagnosed him with the h1n1 cause he had the same symptoms, he will be fine, no med's prescribed just some motrin to keep the fever down and lots of fluids and vitamins. Some people have already had it and didn't know it, my kid will have a couple days of school off and the weeked and will be ready to go on monday (he is 6 years old) its easier said for one person then another, but unless your at what they call "high risk" i wouldn't worry to much about it, when your fever spikes stay home and away from people, for the most part and i've been around alot of people that had it, it's relatively mild. Don't panic method let mother nature take its course.

There are no studies that the H1N1 vacine actually prevents swine flu. Many Dr.s consider it may even be dangerous as it contains aluminum and a mercury toxin and a squalene product that can injure the immune system.........Vacine Manufacturers could make as much as 50 billion if the vacine is administered worldwide.

.

So far 5000 have died worldwide including 1000 in the US since its onset......comparatively, 3000 a day die from malaria and 6000 a day die from AIDS....so why is this considered a global pandemic ? I mean aside from the $50 billion dollars ?

Welcome aboard MDI_Anne...:)

when you've paid billions of dollars for vaccine and now there's only a small percentage of the nation that really needs the vaccine i guess if you were the government you would look like an idiot if you didn't push the vaccine.

One high school official told me in the last week or two over 100 people in his school system were sent home half of them were spotted hunting, everyone i know has been down and out for about 4 days or so with this virus, my child has it going on day 2 now with the fever if i gave him a chocholate bar i would put a paint brush in his hand and make him repaint my house, i hope its that easy with others families.

Ok, tele, you've crossed the line - go to your room and stay there until you've finished all the PBR.

Most who have this flu or any other type of flu will fair just fine as long as they are healthy and like always... it's those who have underlying medical conditions that have the most difficulty. Eat your fruits and veggies, take lots of Vitamin C and D and you'll do well. This flu has been so overblown it's ridiculous!!! This country has spent billions of dollars that could have been spent in far more important ways.

Still continuing with the bogus vaccine info and data, Ladyslipper? Give it a rest.

H1N1 is and has been worldwide, unlike Malaria, laregly confined to the tropics and subtropics, especially Africa. AIDS is more broadly spread but is still especially prevalent in Africa. Efforts are being made to aleviate both but economics, poverty, and behavior contiue to thwart these efforts. H1N1 has the potential to be even more of a problem worldwide and hopefully will never reach the impact of the Spanish Flu (1918-1919) due in part to vaccination and other public and personal health measures.

Ladyslipper 6:16 PM~ You are so correct. Don't let the yay sayers of this vaccine stop you from commenting and making your thoughts known. The many billions of dollars that Big Pharma received pales in comparison to the long term side effects that many will suffer due to bombarding bodies with constant flu vaccines. In the long run, we will spend far more in trying to care for these ill adults.

H1N1 vacccine=gov't operation to soft kill the population. The elite want to eliminate about 80% of world population. Doubt it? Think I'm a wack job? Then it's time to grow up...as the saying goes, ...you're not in Kansas anymore. Get the documentation in the video ENDGAME--at YouTube.com, or better yet get the high quality DVD at infowars.com.
