Man dies after fall from Maine lobster boat

By The Associated Press

HARPSWELL — The Maine Marine Patrol says a 27-year-old Bath man died after falling from a lobster boat into icy water off the coast.

Sgt. Paul Joyce said Chris Hanna fell from the stern of the lobster boat off Harpswell at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. The captain was unable to pull Hanna on board so he called for help from another boat in the area. Despite efforts to resuscitate Hanna, he was declared dead at Mid-Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

The Marine Patrol said the water temperature was in the mid-40s at the time of the accident.
