BREWER - John and Nancy Hanlon of Brewer are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Kathleen Tamson Hanlon to Matthew Thomas Grimes, the son of Don and Sheryl Grimes of Holden. Kathleen is a 2005 graduate of Brewer High School and will graduate in 2009 from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is a nursing tech at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Matthew is a 2005 graduate of Brewer High School and will graduate in 2009 from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology. He is an intern at Z.F. Lemforder Corp. The couple were engaged at the wedding of Kate's brother Brian as part of the traditional bouquet and garter toss - a plan that worked out to completely surprise Kate and it succeeded! They are planning a September 2010 wedding with the Rev. Galen L. Goodwin, uncle of the bride-to-be officiating.
