PORTLAND, Maine — Consumer advocate and presidential candidate Ralph Nader is in Maine today to rally support for his campaign.

Nader will hold a press conference and rally this evening at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist church in Portland. He plans to speak about about the Wall Street bailout, health care, the Iraq war, the environment and the presidential debates.

The perennial presidential candidate has qualified for Maine’s ballot as an alternative to Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama. He is running as an independent with Californian Matt Gonzalez as his running mate.

Nader planned stops earlier in the day in Burlington, Vermont, and Hanover, New Hampshire.
