Maine SUV stolen, crashes

By The Associated Press

SANFORD, Maine — A joy ride in a Hummer ended badly for a pair of teenage girls, who crashed the SUV into a house and are facing burglary and felony theft charges.

The two suspects, who are 15 and 17 and from Sanford, went into a house in town and took the keys to a 2003 H2 Hummer valued at $30,000 on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle was located via On-Star in South Portland. Police there were notified, a chase followed and the Hummer crashed into a house.

The two suspects received medical treatment at a Portland area hospital.
