Barack Obama for president

AP PHOTO BY JAE C. HONG
Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., speaks at a rally in Roanoke, Va., on Friday.

Change has become an overused buzzword this election, but change is what this country needs. Change from a misguided foreign policy that indefinitely leaves U.S. troops in Iraq more than five years after an invasion based on dubious evidence. Change from a hands-off approach to financial markets that have paralyzed the U.S. economy. Change from a fiscal policy that has ballooned the federal deficit and shortchanged domestic programs. Change from an administration veiled in secrecy with little regard for the Constitution and American principles. Barack Obama represents that change.

This paper has long respected and supported John McCain, especially his efforts, often along with Maine’s senators, on climate change, campaign finance reform and government spending. That John McCain is not running for president.

The Sen. McCain on the Nov. 4 ballot favors extending the fiscally irresponsible Bush tax cuts when the “maverick” voted against them in the Senate. The Sen. McCain running for president says he is firmly pro-life although he previously said he would oppose overturning Roe v. Wade because that would cause women to have dangerous illegal abortions.

Sen. McCain, who has a long record of distinguished service to his country, has compromised his principles to get elected. His reckless choice of Sarah Palin, the folksy but untested and incurious governor of the country’s most government-dependent state, as his running mate is a prime example. Worse is his tolerance of his campaign’s desperate attempts to paint Sen. Obama as a friend of terrorists because he served on a board with William Ayers, a member of the radical 1960s group the Weather Underground.

As conservative columnist George Will wrote last month: “It is arguable that, because of his inexperience, Obama is not ready for the presidency. It is arguable that McCain, because of his boiling moralism and bottomless reservoir of certitudes, is not suited to the presidency. Unreadiness can be corrected, although perhaps at great cost, by experience. Can a dismaying temperament be fixed?”

With a record number of Americans believing the country is on the wrong track, strong leadership and a commitment to moving in a new direction are needed. While his opponents have derided Sen. Obama’s talk of hope and unity as empty slogans, the popularity of his campaign shows that the country is eager for positive leadership, not a continuation of the divisiveness fostered by the Bush administration.

Backing hope and unity ensures that Maine remains focused on the future, where a return to the country’s positive prospects lies.

A positive message, of course, is not enough to be elected president, and we do have reservations about Sen. Obama’s limited experience — he has served only four years in the U.S. Senate and three terms in the Illinois Senate. But he has shown an eagerness to surround himself with well-informed advisers and, as important, a willingness to listen to dissenting views.

If elected, Sen. Obama will work with a Congress controlled by Democrats. He and party leaders have a responsibility to restrain government spending, resist growth in government programs and foster moderate policy shifts, which requires building on good ideas from Republicans and Democrats alike.

This is especially necessary because Sen. Obama will have a difficult time finding ways to pay for the needed, but expensive reforms he proposes for health care, education and the tax code. Addressing voters’ top concerns — righting the economy, ending the war in Iraq and moving America toward energy independence — will only come through bipartisan negotiations, in which Sen. McCain can play a key role as he has on important issues such as climate change and military contracting.

At a cost of $10 billion a month, the loss of more than 4,000 American soldiers’ lives and the constraints it placed on the U.S. military, the current strategy in Iraq is not sustainable. Sen. Obama understands this.

He also understands that drilling for oil without conservation and support for renewable energy won’t move the U.S. toward energy independence. He understands that reducing taxes and health care costs for the middle class and small businesses are essential to rebuilding the economy.

For these reasons, the policies of the Barack Obama and Joe Biden ticket and its serious focus on our most pressing issues will better serve Maine and America.

Thank you for endorsing Senator Obama. From here in California, it's good to know that there are kindred spirits out there on the other side of the country. Yay, Maine!!

This is the least surprising endorsement of the century. Maine's communist party newspaper supporting Chairman Obama as supreme leader. Now that is change we can believe in.

See, "hossthehermit"...I told you that there are other posters out there that keep an eye on Maine. We respond, anyway! But, "dragonlilleth"...I know personally, Steve Conaway (city manager) and Pancone (city counselor) in Fillmore, California, for many, many years. Steve was a regular on "Survivor Austrailia". I text and blog to them in the Fillmore Gazette all the time. Steve Conaway is sometimes my guest at my house when he is out here. Seems that most of the folks in California really do not like Baraka. You might just be in the minority. Nobody knows for sure what any candidate will do as President...it is all speculation right now. Nobody has any crystal ball.

We applaud your endorsement of Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States. As you state so very well , "change is what this country needs." Obama can supply that much-needed change by his positive, optimistic character and his already proven willingness to surround himself with the best advisors that he can find. Obama is reminiscent of another young, energetic and forward-looking presidential candidate, John F. Kennedy. Like Kennedy, Obama has inspired and challenged the young people to get involved and to work for the betterment of this country.

Kudos to the BDN for evolving into the objective daily newspaper that the northern part of the state needs. It is the mature, responsible paper that sees good in political candidates regardless of party or background. For many years, it was a foregone conclusion that the BDN would endorse GOP candidates almost exclusively, for it had a definite Republican tilt.

Ross & Judy Paradis

"ShawnDaily"...I totally and personally agree with you! Baraka is NOT my favorite terrorist. (Now watch his supporters criticize us. Icannot wait for the fallout).

"RossJudy"...everything is in the eye of the "Beholder". Heard that before, somewhere? I'd love it if this election was like the Truman-Dewey election. "DEWEY WINS!!". Remember that?

Comparing Barry Obama to JFK is a huge insult. JFK these days would be considered a neo-con and somebody ridiculed and misunderstood by the likes of Ross and Judy Paradis. Of course these two still write hate letters to the St. John Valley Times up here believing that the Supreme Court "appointed" Bush even though it was Algore who sued the state of Florida because Bush was declared the winner. Thankfully Ross and Judy are no longer part of the Democrat government problem in Maine and are relegated to relative obscurity.

Are you sure it's not "Johnthephilistine"?

"(Now watch his supporters criticize us. I cannot wait for the fallout)"

Or perhaps "urbanterrorist" is a more apt fit.

"disrupterinchief"?

Ya follow?

Life-get-one

Oh, by the way, philistine........

Barack Obama continues to enjoy a very solid lead over John McCain in California as concerns about the economy dominate the election dialogue nationwide.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of California voters shows Obama attracting 56% of the vote while McCain earns 40%

Nice try, though - maybe it'll fly in Fillmore.........LOL

Don't be too alarmed folks. I predicted on my blog a few weeks ago that the BDN would be endorsing Obama. They have been pounding away at McCain, Palin, Bush for months now. However, let's face it, nobody gives a damn what those sitting around the table at the editorial office in the BDN care. We have long ago learned to ignore the garbage coming off the editorial pages of the News. Probably, one good reason why sales have dropped off so bad over time.In fact word on the street is that the News may be sold..times are tough I hear..not nearly as tough if their editorial choice meets their desires. The News will be endorsing Senator Collins soon, but here again nobody really cares. She is the best by far of the two candidates, as is John McCain. Surprise Surprise..Larry T. Doughty, South Brewer-larrytdoughty@yahoo.com, www.ourstory.com/larrytdoughty.

Here are Obama's great advisors. WHO WERE THEY and what are they doing NOW? The Bangor Daily has it all wrong. But that's no big surprise.

THEN: Franklin Raines: Hewas a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting activities.

NOW: Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor

THEN: Tim Howard: He was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies

that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. In everyday English - he was cooking the books. The Government Investigation

determined that, " Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within

Fannie Mae,"

NOW: Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama

THEN: Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.

NOW: Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and

was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee

Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall Street ?

Larry, I for one am not alarmed, but I am amused. I almost hate to see the campaign come to an end. I don't know if I can find a comparable substitute for the entertainment value this election has offered!

So, Ross Judy....You want change? Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!

You might as well go live in Europe if Obama's change is what you are looking for.

Further, it is naive to trust the polls. Gallup has them 47% and 49% this morning. The New York Times has a 14% difference between

the two.

If you believe those polls are accurate, I have a house to sell you.

The BDN would endorse Stalin if he were running for president.

The funniest part of the endorsement: "he has shown an eagerness to surround himself with well-informed advisers and, as important, a willingness to listen to dissenting views."

Are you kidding, well-informed advisers?

Jim Johnson and Franklin Raines? Good grief!

thanks to the BDN for being a responsible newsource in a warped world of insults and propaganda. I have grown up and old with your newspaper and have always thought it was a bit too meek in its politics . You have redeemed yourself . I wish you well . we need a hometown newspaper and anyone that celebrates journalisms troubles should brace themselves .None of us is exempt from the misteps of the last 8 years .The editorial pages are the most well thought out and articulate sources of discourse for its readers .That is why editorials are the most important reading we can do . The media is not liberal or conservative . Its the news . I put more creed in someone with a journalism degree and a good pen more than someone with a big mouth and a bad attitude.

Don't forget Tim Howard.....another winner!

Rick Warren, what hath thou wrought?!

Since Obama's past co-worker (Bill Ayers) has done those true acts of terrorism, I just don't understand why he's not in jail-for-life. Has our legal system turned anti-American and backwards, or what?

If Obama goes into the White House, every day will become a 9/11. If you believe in America, and the foundation upon which the USA was built, do not vote for Obama. Take an honest look at the facts, and you will see McCain is the better choice. He's clearly far from the perfect choice, but he is the "better option" for this America.

If on the other hand you would prefer to live under socialism/communism rule, please don't drag this country into your sick dream. You are still free-to-leave this country, but that will change if we fall deeper under the socialism/communism goals of those liberal democrats.

The facts are the facts, and it's time for more Mainers to wakeup and see what's really happening here.

The BDN overlooks many things in the political world. They are not interested in providing readers any of the bad things going on with the political figures involved in the financial scandals. They will be reflected too deeply on their favorite candidate for President. Again, folks we are having fun writing about it here, but their columns don't amount to a hooey..their news content, on a daily basis sure has led the way to their editorial endorsement, are we surprised?

Larry T. Doughty, South Brewer-larrytdlarrytdoughty@yahoo.com-www.ourstory.com/larrytdoughty/

Govt2Big, I think you win the prize here for being the most uninformed commenter, which is saying a lot. You should be very proud. As I posted just moments ago, I have been unable to find anything about Ayers personally killing someone, which is odd because the McCain Campaign is trying to make him seem as bad as bin Laden. And here you bear that out by saying Obama = 9/11. You know, Govt2big, it's "starve-the-beast" proponents like you who got us into this nationalism of the banks situation we're in now, which is only a hair's-breadth away from being socialism. Kudos 2 U!

Tis kind of biased bull is exactly why I'm going to let this newspapers subscription to expire without renewal. I own a restaurant, and have supplied this paper to our patrons for years, but enough is enough. Everyone join the BDN and Obama on the march to socialism! Like lemmings off a cliff.

Does anyone know where I can find some marijuana?

Dansur, you don't serve lemmings at your restaurant?

What a freaking surprise that the "Baldacci Daily Nonsense" would endorse Barack HUSSEIN Obama for President and supreme leader of the socialist movement. What will the BDN do if "The Great One" gets into power and takes its money to "spread the wealth around" to other people? I am sure it will be the Republicans fault for Obama's "steal from the hardworking and give to the illegal, pot smoking, no ambition, welfare collecting people" plan!

Obama's great endorsements: Louis Farrakhan (Nation of Islam - racist), Bill Ayers (terrorist), Tony Rezko (Chicago mob), Jeremiah Wright (racist/Preacher of hate) and the Bangor Daily News (unfair and unbalanced source of "news")

McCain/Palin 08!

It's about time, _BDN_!

Mainers--logon to your Obama for Maine portal (vote early absentee--get busy):

Oh c'mon you guys, you scream and ballywho that you want change but when there is a viable chance of REAL change, you belly ache that it ain't the change that you want. You can't have it both ways. For over 8 years, the country has been draining money and jobs overseas, do you want that to continue? Do you want our young people dying and fighting for a rich mans war? Do you want this country bankrupt as been predicted by the present economic predictors? Just keep wishing for change in one hand, look to McCain to lead us into the promise land on the other hand, and guess which one will fill up quicker?! This is the time for change and whether you like it or not, Obama is the only candidate that is willing to push up his shirt sleeves and deal with the issues head on. I just hope racism isn't rearing it's ugly head with all of this retoric, that would be a shame if it is, because that would mean that as humanity goes, we haven't progressed as far as I have thought. Progressiveness isn't socialist or facist. It's moving out of the quagmire that the present administration and Co. has put us in, by the way, How come there isn't more Obama signs in Penobscot county, is it because there are some democrats having sour grapes because their lady didn't win the primary? How about we put the differences asside and all work to get this country out of the mud hole and back on track where we value the workers, middle-class and leave the hate in the middle east. That is the common sense approach to the whole mess. But I forgot, commonsense had it's funeral years ago.

Thank you anne_of_mdi, and I hope God will forgive you and your fellow anti-Americans for dragging us down into the snake pits of socialism and communism. If you don't realize that's what Obama will do to the USA, there's also an award out there for you.

anne of mdi; we feed anyones body, but I refuse to feed anyones brain with this biased newspapers propaganda.

Govt2Big, you know that George Bush and the GOP have just presided over the hugest-ever Socialist takeover in the history of this nation. Why would you say such an ignorant thing? Are you just one of the many wingnuts here trying to spread and perpetuate lies even though they are debunked here over and over again? WTF?

I'm proud of my hometown newspaper for doing the right thing. I know the tradition at the BDN has been as a Republican leaning paper. This is the sensible choice. Those who comment about superfluous and stupid issues such as William Ayers and socialistic tendencies have their head in the sand.

anne-searose hopefully you will get all you seek

This was a very well written editorial. there is nothing to argue with here.

The BDN has made exactly the correct choice in its presidential endorsement and for the right reasons. Thank you BDN ! Sorry to see so many right wing Kool-Aid drinkers on this blog. How misguided and misinformed you are. That your propaganda-ridden party is now sinking to new lows with its LIES and SMEARS is no surprise. That too many people here in Maine, even if they are Republicans, are buying any of this false, desperate, NONSENSE is what is surprising here in Maine where most folks usually no better regardless of party. Just for the record, Senator Obama has NEVER had a "close" relationship with Mr. Ayres who committed illegal acts decades ago when Obama was a little boy and who now is a law-abiding professor of education in Chicago. Senator Obama was asked to serve on an educational board, which Ayres also happened to be appointed to, along with several REPUBLICANS who also served on the exact same board. Next, Senator Obama is a CHRISTIAN and has been for many years. He is not and has never been a Muslim. Finally, Senator Obama is an honorable, decent American citizen, public servant, father, and husband. He is brilliant, and he will bring the kind of national unity, wisdom, and calm, deliberative superior intellect that this country so desperately needs after eight of the darkest years we have ever seen in American national government.

Thanks, guys, and "Noblamemegaming"...it don't hurt at all. Thanks so much for thinking of me, anyway.

"David889327"...you can find marijuana anyplace in Maine...ask anyone for it.

"anne_of_mdi"..."Dansur" cannot find lemmings...they all jumped into the sea. Hmmmwonder what the substitute will be?

Question: Why was America so blessed in times past? Answer: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD" (Psalm 33:12a). Question: Why are we no longer blessed? Answer: "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34). Question: What can we do to turn things around? Answer: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Question: My endorsement? Answer: "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes" (Psalm 118:8-9). Question: Who will you choose? "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).

Go to the Greater Bangor Area web page and see the "BDN Times Record Endorse Obama" and same photo of Obama, scroll down to my posting about the last line...something new...you have to see this one! It is true, believe me, at least the experience is true and what I was told.

"hadassah"...I'm a Philistine! Don't give me any stories, please! I cannot stand it!

To our Maninmanila - after reading more of your postings, I think you should change the moniker to Johnfillmystein. You're welcome.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RZVw3no2A4 is all I have to say........

Rossjudy...you have got to be kidding me. Obama surrounds himself with the best advisors?!! You mean the three crooks that brought down Freddie Max and Fannie Mae. Check these three guys out. Tom Howard, Jim Johnson, and Franklin Raines. Guess where they work now? As Obama's senior chief economic advisors in his campaign. He hired them after knowing what happened at these comapnies. Do the search on line. Acorn, Obama, these three guys are all tied in together." Bundling" of bad loans caused the down fall of these companies and our econimic crisis. Ever wondered where all the money Obama is getting for his campaign? Lots and lots of it an small incruments. Supposedly lots of it comes from over seas. Small loans "bundled together" so they are much harder to trace. Seems like a pattern here. Do you thik they have time to do that before the election. Where is that money coming from? Same thing with these vote registrations in states like Ohio. Throw it all in a pile so that they can't sort it out. Phone companies, internet sevices, and other companies do the same thing. I don't think Obama can distance himself from these three as he said he did with Ayers and Reverend Wright. How blind can we be.

sorry about the spelling ....this is rediculous...the guy wants to change the American flag and our national anthem...change all right !!!! to what?!!! He says the flag is offensive...then leave the country if you don't like what the flag stands for. There are a few ice-burgs floating around that have no flags on them. Claim it as your own and start your own country. and wear a warm jacket!!!

Elizabethann, wait, let me guess, you also believe that Obama wants to change the national anthem to "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." I'm beginning to think you're a spambot, Elizabethann, because I don't see how it's possible for a human adult who is capable of operating a computer to believe what you just wrote after all of this crap has been debunked in this very forum over and over and over again. This is what you sound like: Hi, I'm Elizabethann. I'm really scared of Obama because he's an Oompa Loompa Transylvanian anarchist Zoroastrian who won't wear a rainbow wig and wants to change the national anthem to Michael Rowed the Boat Ashore.

To all of the Republican elite here...... I'm sure that you will be calling Gen. Colin Powell, who is Republican, a terrorist because he endorses Obama. Elizabethann: I am sure that McCain/Pailin would fly the Confederate Flag in at the Capitol if they had their way. Since they like to promote fear, bigotry and hate. And, to anyone who has said that Obama took money from Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae, please read the article that was released today by the AP reporting about the Republican corruption. But, even if you do, I would not expect you guys to believe it because it wasn't reported by the Republican Party. Couldn't possibly be true. Right? I know, I must not live in the "patriotic" or the "real" Maine because I speak out against McCain/Pailin and their lies.

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20081019/D93TQN1O1.html

People do the searches on these three guys. Again, some of Obama's aquaintances with questionable judgement. Three more to a list of how many.

Elizabethann: Unless you are truly willing to do research to find the REAL truth, then the only judgement that you should be worried about is your own! It's funny how the Repubs pick and choose what they want to believe as the real truth.

I did the research.....and these people who are in his life and have been in his life are just acquaintances..... Just passed them on the street. Wouldn't recognize them if he did. Right.......You are truely gullible.

Elizabethann...you happen to be correct. I also did the research, and I, too, will get "T-boned" by some of the bloggers, but, you are right. There are new news stories out right now that Obama has broken federal rules on campaign funding. For whatever it is worth, everyone should know this fraud's history by now, anyway. OK, folks, throw those balls at me, so I can get dropped in the water tank, again. But...the truth be known!

One word: NADER peace and love

No. Do NOT vote Obama for President. He's got no real experience, and it is crazy to think the American people will elect someone like that. He was a Senator for two years prior to kicking off his election. Since then, he's done nothing.

McCain is an incredible man. He's put his heart and soul on the line for our country -- from Vietnam to Washington. We need someone like that in the White House... not someone in it only for vanity and ego. I'm a Democrat, but I'm voting for John McCain because a vote is too valuable to waste on inexperience.

Hey Govt2Big.

You are an idiot.

First of all Ayers was never Obama's co-worker. He served on a charitable board with him. By the way, Ayers was named Chicago's distinguished citizen of the year in 1997 and is a Professor at the University of Chicago.

How exactly will everyday become 9/11? I'd like to know what inside info you have that the rest of the world doesn't.

I think you need to look up the definitions of socialism and communism.

Lastly, it's funny that you say "the facts are the facts" because your whole statement is devoid of them. However, since you pretend to be so keen on "facts" I'll give you one:

Obama is going to win, and the world will be better for it. The days of angry, ignorant, American-centric politics are coming to an end and soon people like you will be recognized for the ignorant and destructive force you are.

Way to go dustin! Nicely said. Elizabethann: Could the reason that Bush never went after Bin Laden be because the towers were in New York and he views them as " East Coast Liberal Elite?" And, the reason that he left the people of New Orleans, the majority being Democrats, to rot in their sewage filled waters because maybe he considers them as not living in the "real" or "patriotic" part of America? McCain/Pailin have their own corrupt goonies that they are associated with! You make my case about the Repubs looking past ALL of the REAL facts. I hope that you have been reading the National Polls that people are souring on McCain/Pailin because of their dirty campaign tactics! People are also souring on McCain because of his choice of Pailin as his VP.

Hey, dustin: As I have asked others that have a brain, please get the message out to all people that you know and have them call the Republican National Committee at: 202-863-8500 to denounce the robocalls.

hey fudd. obama robocalled me, can u stop him too?

duckwa: I'm not fighting for your idiot cause.

duckwa: I bet Obama's campaign wasn't stirring hate, fear, and bigotry in their robocalls.

elmerfudd, please don't say dickwa is an idiot. That's an insult to idiots. Particularly johnthephilistine, I mean johnfillmystein. (thanks noblamegaming!)

anne_of_mdi: LOL! That is freakin funny! I needed the good laugh after reading these post by the Repubs. I'll return the favor a give you a good laugh. So, did you hear Josh Brolin on SNL? He talked about winning an award for a movie based on McCain's life. The movie was called, drum roll please.......... No Country For Old Men!

still bitching i see......do you guys ever do anything else besides bitch? Yesterday seemed mild in the bitchin' department....you Christian Republicans must of been in church repenting for your sins.......that's pathetic! Hiding behind the church.......shame on you.

The knee-jerk reactions against your editorial are amusing. All of a sudden the staid, right-of-center BDN becomes "Maine's Communist Newspaper." Rick Warren once told me he asked only two things of his editorial writers: "Don't say anything bad about fly fishing and don't endorse anyone without checking with me first." So I guess Rick is on board with the Obama endorsement; and we all know what a bomb-throwing radical he is!

Seriously, the great thing about the editorial is not the bottom line as much as the logic that leads to it. BDN endorses Obama for all the right reasons.

Kudos.

HEY MCCAIN PEOPLE!!! While I'm sure you're the same people who voted for George Bush TWICE, the time has come for you to sit down, shut up, and let the smart people run the Government again!! You're the people who voted for Bush because you wanted to have a beer with him, and the rest of us have been suffering the consequences for eight years!! If you really hate Barack Obama so much, I have a suggestion for you; move to Alaska, join forces with Todd and Sarah Palin, become a member of the Alaskan Independence Party (just like Todd & Sarah) and you can all secede from the United States!! It's perfect!! You can all live happily ever after in a little far right, Christian conservative world of hypocrisy, selfishness, and stupidity!!! Here's a direct quote from Joe Vogler, the founder of your new party:

"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

Joe Vogler

Did I mention Todd and Sarah Palin are members of this organization? Didn't I hear Sarah Palin call someone "anti-american?" Hmmm, interesting!!

Well said Robb!

Looking for Presidential material in Mr Obama.

Mr. Barack Obama's has opinions on many subjects, has been in very few positions in government where his ideas have been put to the test.

This gentleman, whom I regard in high esteem, and who has a Moslem father, is an intellectual, who does not have the practical experience to be Commander in chief or CEO of the United States of America.

This person has one qualification, he can talk, and discuss in a charming manner.

Let him continue his Senate role, in future years, run for top job in America.

Talking and promising, is all very well, it has it’s place certainly, but the President of the United States has to consider Congress and the Senate, the golden voice of Senator Barack Obama does not qualify him to move into the White house with disregard for practical experience, not yet attained.

I wish him well in his future endeavors. Advise him to sit out this particular endeavor.

Thoughts for the Voters….

Has he got what it takes ..it will be too late after he is elected, and you desire to change your mind.

He is a Lawyer…

How many years has he practiced law, that career is now at an end.

He appears as a honest person, he has not been in any position as such to be a proven honest

He obtained some experience in State legislature, but for how long.

He can talk that is true, a great communicator, most lawyers are, and he promises much.

But these are just promises, none of which may come to pass.

He appears friendly that also is true, politicians are always friendly till they get elected.

Where is all his political experience, that I do not see. How many years has he had in the Senate.

Where does his experience come from to be knowledgeable about our the economy and our country..

Where does his experience come from to be Commander in Chief of all the Military in USA.

Where has all his campaign money come from. However he knows some people who to say the least, have a reputation that is soiled and associated with people of ill repute..

He is a religious man, but the church he attended appears he should have rejected many years ago, because of his minister.

Been involved with the Weather man a group who attacked America, started his career in this mans living room.

Mr Obama simply puts it down to dirty politics, he was associated with those people, an investigation before he is elected.

Mr. Colin Powell has highly recommended Obama , great but what has Mr. Obama done to deserve that recommendation, his efforts in the Senate certainly do not..

His promises, he has made many, and fulfilled none, nothing there to deserve a recommendation,

His military career of which he has none.

Be honest, praise from the General does not give Mr Obama experience, he requires to be Commander in Chief of all the Military in the USA.

General Powell and Mr Obama are from the same race.

General is an honest man, race would not influence his judgment.

Looking for Presidential material in Mr Obama.

I would like to know how Obama can be running for President when he was born in Kenya?? He has never produced a certified birth certificate to the court (Berg, a democrat in PA) His grandmother sent him to a private school in Indonesia where he studied Islam; and English is not his first language. That is clearly evident if you listen closely when he answers questions and constantly says "ah, ah.." as he translates into English. Why was he never in the military?

I am amazed that a mystery man appears out of no where, can speak well and promise anything, and supposed people of intelligence don't ask more questions. I quess Putin's cousin could show up next election and amaze us with elequent speech and promises!!
