BANGOR, Maine— The Union Street Brick Church has provided a range of theater experiences in the past seven years.

In December the church will present something a little different — “The Cause & D’Effect” or the “Doo, Doo Duality Cabaret” with parody, songs, drama and ragtime at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7, at the church.

The church’s young actors are tackling the issue of duality first in the comic conflict in the Batman and Joker legend, and then in a heart torn between intellectual searching and supernatural love.

The cause-and-effect tension continues with a little bit of “Jekyll and Hyde” and the music of Shannon Kellish and Sarah Burke.

Finally, all is resolved in the fun of ragtime and the virtuoso playing of special guest Tom “Jazzou” Jones on the piano.

And since it’s getting close to Christmastime, Jones, joined by the cast, will play holiday songs.

Snacks and drinks will be available during performances. For information, call 945-9798.
