Police in Dexter seek man, ask public’s help

DEXTER, Maine — Police sought the public’s help Tuesday in finding Matthew Lee Ricker, 31, formerly of Sangerville.

They want to determine his well-being.

Ricker has not been seen or heard from since Oct. 1, when he spoke to his father and told him he “didn’t have to worry about him anymore,” according to his mother, Kathy Ricker of Dexter.

Matthew Ricker was not reported missing until this week, Kathy Ricker said, because she thought he needed some time to “cool off.” She became alarmed, she said Tuesday, when everyone involved in her son’s life began talking and found that no one had seen or talked with him since Oct. 1.

Dexter police enlisted to help because those who last saw Matthew Ricker said he was distraught over marital problems. Ricker also is wanted on a warrant for unpaid fines, according to his mother.

“It’s like everything came crashing down on him at once,” she said.

Ricker said she had been trying to convince her son to turn himself in on the warrant and get medical help before he disappeared so he could get his life straightened out.

Matthew Ricker, who prefers to wears dark clothing, is 6 feet 4 inches tall, has auburn hair and hazel eyes, and his upper teeth are damaged.

Anyone with information about him is asked to call the Dexter Police Department at 924-7622.

he is not a well man we all have tried to help him and all he dose is lie and use , matthew has big issue i am flying in from texas to help find him .

So have YOU known he's been 'missing' for 2 months? Tough sh!t if you don't like what I typed. Going by what appears here in TYPE, I find it very odd a mother didn't report her son missing for 2 months, thus my deduction that maybe she has problems. I don't know you, your brother OR your mother from a hole in the ground I can only form an opinion on what I read here in this article. I hope this is a case of him simply not WANTING to be found and he is safe.

Doesn't mean the mother does not care. He is a man. He does not have to check in with mommy around the clock. Maybe like the family is saying he had some problems he had to deal with and maybe they thought that he may just need that time like his mom said. Horrible. God. All these people dying and missing and the poor toddler and the woman being beat and raped. God. So sad. So so sad around this time of year. Prayers people. Just take two minutes to say a prayer for all of these poor families.

For the poor family that lost Matthew Cesare.

For the family in Millinocket that lost their baby son.

For the family that just lost their toddler by suffocation.

For this family.

Pray people. It could be us in that situation someday. God I hope I am never in that/this situation.

Please Lord, please take care of these families and guide them. Help them find peace. Help them find closure. In your name.

The public may have a better chance in helping if his picture was posted with the arcticle. There have a been a cpl arcticles on this with no picture. If I were his family and friends I would plaster his face on every window, pole, and door I was allowed..
