So I went to my car, called the company and blew a freaking gasket...HOW DARE THEY SEND A CHILD MOLESTER INTO MY HOME WITH CHILDREN PRESENT????????

They said to me....Ma'm that's his personal business.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? HE HAS PRIVACY RIGHTS????

So I told them, I want him out of my house RIGHT FING NOW! I don't care how you do it, you do it and NOW..

They called his cell and told him he would be replaced for they needed him elsewhere for another job! A young guy came to replace him and he knew EXACTLY why I wanted him out now!

I was nervous so I didn't say anything to him, I didn't want to give him a reason to come back to my home...I'll tell you something people.....

I'll say that although this oil company was quite apologetic, they said to me.."We do our best to always send him in with a co worker" Well he was in my home ALONE for hours before I even knew. I have always done my very best to teach stranger safety to my kids, my oldest is quite reserved and shy so to speak, always shunned away from strangers..The lil guy, quite the opposite.

I unfortunatly after years of using this company voided our contract for I felt they voided the safety of my children. I had since found out he still works for the company...I just tell people to be extremly careful of whom you use for contracting, burner service, anyone you let into your home...Just because you have used the same oil company for eons, it doesn't mean you or your children are protected...

I was so sick to my stomach after he left my home, I sat and cried that evening for as he was in my home my lil guy kept going up and down the basement as I washed dishes and thought we were safe in our own home, point is that children are NEVER safe from child molesters....I had NEVER even looked at the registry before, I always thought in a naive manner that I am always with my kids, they aren't allowed to venture from home and again I am always with them so I felt that I was keeping them safe....

They aren't even safe in their own homes for Companies and businesses don't devulge that information out of "respect" and "privacy"

In my opinion once they have VIOLATED a child...They deserve no privacy, no respect and anyone who has children should be notified BEFORE they send them into private homes...

hrdwkngmom: You should contact the State Police at their non-emergency number and ask to speak with someone that is famaliar with the sex offender registry to find out if this guy possibly broke any probation requirements. Like not having any contact with minors. I believe this would be required of him, if that is the case, at his job too. If you find that to be true then I would contact his employer again and inform them that they are allowing him to violate his release conditions.

On a serious note, I am just wondering how others feel about the notification process in our State. I feel like I want to take it further for I have wondered daily if he has entered other homes of children.

Shouldn't there be rights for the public? Shouldn't it be the decision of the homeowner? If they had called me prior and asked my if I had small children and told me their employee had a past, I would not have been disrespectful, I would have had my son leave with family and if not possible I would have cancelled and asked them to send someone different.

I don't think it should be looked at as a confidentiality issue, I think it is definitly a safety issue. I know some people would go to the extremes with ignorance but I think a majority would handle the situation with maturity. It should be if a convicted pedophile has a job thet requires them to enter a private residence, it should be a mandatory practice to notify the home owner.

I believe the state legislation should take it one step further than just posting a sex offender website and pass a bill where it would be mandatory for all sex offenders to notify a potential employer what the conditions of their release are. That way companies can avoid putting the public in a possible very bad situation. And, if they chose to, the company would then be held liable. I'm sure people would say that it would be a violation of the sex offenders constitutional rights and it would prevent them from being rehabilitated. Or, something like that. I personally feel that they should not have any rights. After working in law enforcement for a number of years I will say that I always saw the same familiar faces commiting these crimes. Most sex offenders offend an average of 75 times before they are caught and most sex offenses are perpetrated by someone who the victim knows, loves and trusts.
