THIS STORY MAKES DAN DESCHAINE SOUND LIKE A SAINT.. AND HE IS DEFINATLEY NOT ONE... "I AM NOT A VIOLENT PERSON", YEAH RIGHT, I KNOW HIM, NOT REAL WELL BUT I DO KNOW THAT HE HAS VIOLENT TENENCIES. I HAVE SEEN IT FIRST HAND.. THERE IS ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO THE STORY... I THINK THAT WHOEVER THE PERSON WAS THAT GAVE BROOKER THIS DEVELOPING INFORMATION SHOULD ACTUALLY TAKE A LOOK AND SEE THE REAL PICTURE., AND MAYBE SHE/THEY SHOULD TELL THE REAL STORY... BECAUSE SHE/THEY KNOWS THE REAL STORY.....

Yeah, I am not surprised that either one of these guys was involved in a "scuffle".

I feel so bad for the hannafin family. i know them personally and i think the police should question his wife more. maybe a lie detector test perhaps. what a shame.

i'm sorry as i look at this one thing pops out in my mind,

That one statement, makes him sound like he is covering his butt, i mean seriously, it shows it was him that started this fight, so i don't live in the area, but i heard rumor that this scum was beating on Hannafins wife or had somehow hit her twice, then the husband was there to defend his wife, does that make him a criminal. i have also heard rumors that the item used to do the stabbing was actually the victims, if you want to call him that. now how is any of this possible if it was a violent attack from this husband? especially if you think about it, why would an attacker go for the legs? would that not make you vulnurable to take a beating about the neck and head? either some people in the area are not too smart, or someone is being paid off to tell the story of a loser who beats on women and play the system.

by the way, A rumor is not a fact, but just someones suggestion made verbal, but is it not worth looking into when it could possibly be taking the livelyhood of a whole family, and taking a head of household away from the whole family. i hope the real story is uncovered, and families can rest easy

HdizzleM it wasnt written in the article but the guys bag was actually cut wide open. It wasnt just the legs that the guy went after. It was a very gruesome attack.

HdizzleM - Attacking someone with a knife absolutely is a crime. This guy almost died do to loss of blood. You say you don't live there, but you talk as if you have facts, sounds a little fishy to me.

I do know Dan personally and have seen him in MANY fist fights, mostly ones w/ his ex-girlfriend. Maybe they should ask Dan what drugs he was on the night of the attack....because he is a big druggy(and I do know that for a fact) Maybe thats why he "couldn't remember" what happened that night. I think the police need to take a better look at Dan's records. I am willing to bet money he has a rap-sheet about a mile long. I also know Corey, he is by far, not a violent person. He is actually one of the nicest people I know. I would never suspect him of doing anything like this. (and still don't believe he did) By the sounds of the article they don't have any hard evidence on Corey, I hope I am right because he deserves none of this. We are praying for you Corey, you and your family. Don't take anything these guys are saying to heart, because obviously they don't know you.

Well, what would you expect him to say, BackHome? "I am a bloody fighter who deserved to get stabbed?" You have proof of anything, why just mouth it here, anonymously? Someone said Corey was there defending his wife? If it was defending his wife why not wait around for the police or go to the station why run and not man up to what he had done and the reasons behind the attack? I don't understand why they didn't charge him with attempted murder.

Obviously he wasn't trying to kill him (if he truely was the one who did it) Dan got stabbed in the leg...thats why they didn't charge him w/ attempted murder.

Have many of you forgotten....innocent until proven guity. I'm sure the story has been twisted and turned by many (his own EX wife I'm sure. who seems to be the confused, distrustful person in many situations) Those who where actually there only know the truth, and it is those people who will have to swear under oath as to what they saw.

Dan's been a drugy for years of course he couldn't remember. I also know dan, he steals perscription drugs from his relatives and the first time you turn around he will stab you in the back, but he did try to put on a good show. Dan seems to like messing with women that are taken, he shoulda been beat not stabbed. I dont know you but hannafin i wish you luck.

First of all Dan beat the crap out of Hannafins wife and Hannafin was held back. Of course ANY man and I mean ANY man would defend his wife. I know Dan personally and this is not out of the norm for him nor is violence or illeagle drug use. Maybe he should of thought twice before he puched Hannafins wife that night. If Hannafins wife didnt see anything someone did and they need to come forward for the children. The boys dont deserve to have their dad taken away for defending thir mom. This is so typical small town where everyone things they know the truth since they heard someone talking about it at the local bar one night, yet noone really knows! If it was really Dan's knife that started this all and he was "beating" Cory's wife don't you think Dan would be in jail right now! I'm sure whoever's been covering for Cory all this time, but don't you think if they thought he was innocent that they would've come forward a long time ago with information against Dan!
