Road reopened after fatal western Maine crash

PERU, Maine — Police say Route 108 in Peru has been reopened after a head-on collision that claimed the lives of two people in the western Maine town.

According to Maine State Police, the drivers of both vehicles were killed when they crashed on Route 108 at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. The names of the victims have not been released.

The accident is under investigation.
