Auburn police said three teenagers last week broke into the spa at a Hilton Garden Inn, where they ripped off wall tiles and threw them into the spa and hallway, causing about $1,000 in damage.

Police took the hotel’s video that captured the vandalism and posted it on the department’s page on Facebook.com, which they had set up on Jan. 29.

Detectives then received several anonymous tips from Facebook users who recognized the perpetrators.

Police have charged three boys, ages 15 and 16, with burglary and criminal mischief.

Hey anispun, does that matter???

Dirty Lew???????

LOL they can't do their own work (What they get Paid for) so Facebook does it for you...

I think it is a great idea for police to use any avenues they can to catch criminals :)

LOL stevey theres a reason for 295....

listenup - it would appear they did exactly what they got paid for and rather efficiently. How does using Facebook as a tool NOT doing their own work?

Do the leg work.. Facebook should get the commission..

All you folks posting and complaining about the PD using facebook as a tool, are the same posters that would be complaining about the PD if the perps did not get caught. Good job officers.

Face it peeps - there are cameras everywhere, watching everything now. Orwellian to the 9th degree. All's fair in criminals vs. justice.
