DURHAM, Maine (AP) — Deputies are investigating a fatality in Durham where a man was killed after being struck by a motor vehicle while walking along a rural roadway.
According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, 60-year-old Gerald Gores of Durham was struck by a minivan on Route 125 at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday.
Gores was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died of his injuries.
Investigators say 22-year-old Caitlyn Finch of Lisbon Falls was driving the car.
An investigation is ongoing, but alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
