HOWLAND – Antoinette “Tonie” Lebreux Rancourt, 90, wife of the late Antoine Rancourt, left her family on earth to join her family in eternity April 20, 2005. She crossed over while residing at Cummings Healthcare in Howland. She was born Sept. 5, 1914, in St. Zacharie, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Lea (Poirier) Lebreux. Antoinette was a communicant of St. Leo’s Parish and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality. In 1957, Antoine and Antoinette moved their young family to Howland, not knowing how to speak English. She not only learned how to speak English, she learned to read it as well. She enjoyed reading her newspaper daily by the window. She was a loving and hard working mother and grandmother that loved being with her family. For many years while living in her home in Howland, she knitted mittens and socks and cooked special desserts for her family as gifts. No one will forget the many Christmas celebrations with more than 50 people in their Lagrange Road home where they enjoyed Memere’s pat?s. She lived in her own home until she was 85 years old. More recently, she looked forward to days of playing beano while at Cummings Healthcare, attending Mass on Fridays and the visits from her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Claude of Quebec, Marcel of Edinburg, Raymond and his wife, Karen, of Howland and Gilbert and his wife, Alice, of Passadumkeag; daughters, Denise and her husband, Joel LaVertue, Raymonde and her husband, Reggie Theriault, all of Edinburg, Micheline and her husband, Delmer Lavertu, Gaetane and her husband, Roland Dube, and Francine and her husband, Paul Michaud, all of Howland; a sister, Madeline Gagne of Howland; a brother, Romeo Lebreux of St. George, Quebec; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Hugette Morin of Howland. She was a very special Memere and Grande-memere to 22 grandchildren and their spouses and 31 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a special lady that cleaned houses for her and was a good friend, Noiline Pinet of West Enfield. In addition to her husband, Antoine; she was predeceased by three brothers, Napoleon, Gerard and Maurice; one sister, Cecile Labbe; a daughter-in-law, Collette, wife of Claude; and three loving infant children. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. The Ladies of St. Ann will join in prayer at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Leo’s Parish in Howland, with the Rev. Andr? Houle officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality of St. Leo’s Parish.
