NORTHFIELD – Carl Hood passed away Sept. 4, 2005, at home, with his wife at his side after a short term of cancer. He was born Oct. 23, 1949, the son of Morna (Ramsdell) Hood and the late Carroll Hood. Carl loved fishing, hunting, boating, working with wood and making things for his family and friends. He loved country music, and also loved smoking fish and turkey, which we all will miss. He loved to watch the wildlife outside his window. He was a very special person and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Hood; daughter, Heather Wright; sons, Mark and Brad Hood; stepson, Ronald Wright; one brother, Kenny Hood and wife, Sue; four sisters, Gloria Metcalf and husband, Reggie, Paula Dowling and husband, Kenny, Brenda Bryant and husband, Lonnie, and Carolyn Hendricks. He is survived by Albert Burns, who is also thought of as a brother; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many devoted friends. A committal service will be announced at a later date.
