OLD TOWN – Christine Spencer, 87, died peacefully Jan. 29, 2006, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Charlotte, N.B., Canada, a daughter of William and Lorinda (Scott) Travis. Christine was an avid Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan. She enjoyed reading and was very knowledgeable in various topics. Her amazing vocabulary and knowledge of the English language helped her during the many games of scrabble she played with her daughter. She was an excellent cook. She is survived by a daughter, Earline Bresnahan of Bradley; a son, Alan Harrington and his wife, Hilda, of Wyoming; 12 grandchildren, Kelli McNerney and her husband, Kip, Lori Bresnahan and her partner, Kris, Trudi Frederico and her husband, Terry and great-grandson, Johnathan Bresnahan, Stephen Harrington and his wife, Jamie and family, Elaine Marces and her husband, Daniel and family, Barbara Harrington and family, Norman Ray Harrington and his wife, Tammy and family, Christian Harrington and Christine and family, Christine Bierhaus and family, Billi-Jo McBride and family, Marie Harrington and Travis Harrington; several nieces and nephews; and a special little buddy, Molly. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Spencer; two sons, Norman Harrington and Billy Harrington; a son-in-law, John Bresnahan; two brothers, William Travis and Nelson Travis; and two sisters, Beulah Hunnewell and Annie Hughes. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
