MEDWAY – David William Powers, 51, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Medway. He was born Dec. 10, 1954, in Lincoln, the son of Allen E. and Charlotte E. (Wakefield) Powers. Dave lived all his life in the Katahdin area graduating from Schenck High School in 1974. He worked for many years at Great Northern Paper Company, Eastmill retiring in 2003. Dave was an avid outdoor sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and his favorite outdoor spot was Cold Stream Pond. He was a serious pool player as well and was the captain of Al’s II pool team. He is survived by one son, Philip A. Powers and special friend, Joyce McLain of Medway; two grandchildren, Monique and Nicholas David; one sister, Eleanor James of Millinocket; five brothers, Ray Wakefield of Florida, Walt and wife, Shirley Ballard, of Kentucky, Steven and wife, Nadine Wakefield, of Texas, Bob and wife, Sharon Powers, Charlie and wife, Cathy Powers, all of East Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Don. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Friday, March 3, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where services will be held at 5 p.m. The Rev. Harold Lovestrand, pastor of the First Baptist Church of East Millinocket, will officiate.
