OLD TOWN and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Doris Merrill Condon, 77, born July 15, 1926, in Bangor, died in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003. A longtime resident of Mountain View, Calif., she was known to most as Dot or Dottie. She was a graduate of Old Town High School and the University of Maine, Class of 1948, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology. Dottie worked as a technical editor for many years at Ford Aerospace and retired in 1981. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, water and snow skiing, boating, lunch with friends and trips to the ocean. She is survived by her close companion of 34 years, Desire James Telmont. Beloved mother of three, she is also survived by her daughter, Carol Brainerd of Red Bluff, Calif.; her two sons, Chris Condon of Columbia, Calif., and John Condon of Tracy, Calif.; her brother, Howard Weld Merrill of Stillwater and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Merrill Lancaster of West Virginia. Dottie was the youngest daughter of Ralph Weld Merrill, born May 12, 1893, in Bangor, died Jan. 19, 1972 in Bangor and Mabelle Florence Jacques, born May 17, 1893 in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, died May 25, 1969, in Bangor. Their primary residence was in Old Town prior to his retirement, then moved to Orono. Services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at Spangler’s Mortuary in Los Altos, Calif.
