MILLINOCKET – Eunice Marie Matangelo, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. She was born in Pittsfield, May 3, 1918, the daughter of Michael A. and Mary J. (Cianchette) Matangelo. She attended school in Millinocket and was employed at Gonya’s Corner Drug Store before joining her brothers in the family owned Millinocket Fruit Company (Fruit Store), until the sale of the store in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and a member of the weekly Block Rosary Group. She was also a member of the local AARP. Eunice was a loving and devoted person who cared for her mother, sister, and brother, with whom she lived. She is survived by two sisters, Clara Paoletti and Helen and her husband, Omer Beaulieu; a sister-in-law, Helen Matangelo, all of Millinocket. She leaves many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and of whom she was very proud. She also leaves special cousins who were very close to her. She was predeceased by two sisters, Anna Matangelo and Florence Hersey; two brothers, Chester Matangelo and John Matangelo. Friends may call at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18. Little Flower Circle, Daughters of Isabella, will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Millinocket. Burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
