PRESQUE ISLE – Evelyn J. Bishop, 92, died early Friday morning, Dec. 17, 2004 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born April 24, 1912, at Kingman, the daughter of Soren and Marie (Hansen) Jensen. Evelyn was an accredited Medical Record Technician at the A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, a former director and President of St. John’s Altar Guild, president of the Organ Guild, and a member of the EOW of St. John’s. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Bishop. She is survived by a son, George of Brooksville, Fla.; a grandson, Soren and his wife, Christine and their children, Nicholas and Victoria; a granddaughter, Carrie and her son, Jeremy, of Brooksville, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Voigtschild and four great-grandsons of Rochester, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, several cousins, including Joan Garland of Mapleton. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Second Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Evelyn to the St. John’s Altar Guild, P.O. Box 8, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
