MILFORD, N.H. – George F. “Fred” Tardiff, 72, resident of 22 Radcliffe Dr., Milford, N.H., died Dec. 15, 2005, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, N.H. He was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Portage Lake, a son of the late Alfred and Irene (Boutot) Tardiff. Mr. Tardiff had been a resident of Milford for the past three years and had formerly resided in Washburn for 45 years. He had been employed as a machinist for N.H. Hydraulics, Inc., Merrimack, N.H. Mr. Tardiff was a 4th degree member of John F. Harris Council No. 1870 Knights of Columbus, Caribou and Milford Council No. 3035. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling and snowmobiling. Mr. Tardiff was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Family members include his wife of 50 years, Betty Ann (West) Tardiff of Milford, N.H.; a son, Chris F. Tardiff of Milford; three daughters, Debra Rose of Summerfield, Fla., Lori Anne Sherman of St. Albans, Vt. and Michele M. Michaud of Dover, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geneva Bouthot of Caribou, Marilyn Nichols of Waterville; three brothers, Abel Tardiff of North Blenheim, N.Y., Harold Tardiff of Weare, N.H., Norman Lepage of St. Petersburg, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m Monday, Dec. 19, at. St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford, N.H. Burial will be in Goodblood Cemetery, Portage Lake, at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Patrick Share Program, P.O. Box 27, Milford, NH 03055. Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.
