LIMESTONE – Henry C. Blackwell Jr., 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1936, in Plymouth, Pa., the son of Henry C. Sr. and Cora Blackwell. Henry served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. His career took him to many different countries and he was honorably discharged in 1974 with the rank of staff sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Caribou, the Knights of Columbus, and a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone. He is survived by his wife, Esther of Limestone; two sons, Roger and Dwayne, both of Limestone; four daughters, Leila Terwilliger of Limestone, Debbie Appleton of Florida, Julie Bloom and her husband, Ronald, of Michigan and Diane Larkin and her husband, Harold, of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Blackwell and Elmer Blackwell and his wife, Diane; four sisters, Alberta Wolfe, Cora Montoro, Emily Budner and her husband, Tom and Henrietta Wolfe; sister-in-law, Annabelle Blackwell; sister-in-law, Florence Brown and her husband, Benny, of Limestone; sister-in-law, Joan; and two brothers-in-law, Louis and Roger Thompson of Limestone; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring at Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. After the service, there will be a reception in the parish hall.
