PARKMAN – Hilda C. Hersey, 84, went to be with her Lord March 31, 2008. She was born Oct. 29, 1923, in Parkman, daughter of G. Clair and Elba (Weever) Harrington. She attended schools in Parkman and Guilford. She worked for Guilford Dry Cleaners, Hardwood Products Co., and later for Pride Manufacturing Co., all in Guilford. She had been a member of Parkman Grange for more than 50 years and was a lifelong member of Parkman Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph E. Hersey, in 1992. She is survived by a son and his wife, Richard and Janet Hersey of Guilford; a daughter, Shirley Hersey of Parkman; three grandchildren, Scott Hersey and his wife, Renee, of Greenville, Karen Ward and her husband, Ardene, of Corinth and Dr. Ronald Hersey and his wife, Debbie, of Avon, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Holly and Henry Hersey of Greenville and Danielle and Nicole Hersey of Avon, Mass.; special people, Dusty and Geneva Clifford of Parkman and Alvin and Betty Adams of Abbot. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Parkman Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Davis officiating.
