MARS HILL – Isabel T. McPherson, 91, died Nov. 1, 2005, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born March 8, 1914, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Robert L. and Bessie (Mahan) Browning. Isabel graduated from Aroostook Central Institute, Class of 1932. She was married to Norman Earl McPherson for 56 years who predeceased her in 1988. She worked as a security guard at Potato Service in Presque Isle many years prior to her retirement. Isabel was a life-long resident of Mars Hill. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she had served as an Eucharistic Minister. Isabel was a great lover of animals, especially her cat, Lucky and her son’s dog, Hagan. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Duane Eighmey of Dover, N.H.; her son and daughter-in-law, Norman R. and Elizabeth McPherson of Mars Hill. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen Eighmey and Cindy and Daniel Eighmey of Barrington, N.H., Lori McPherson of Presque Isle and Allyson McPherson of Terra Haute, Ind. Other survivors include her great-grandchildren, Jessica McPherson-Oliver of Presque Isle, Shain Eighmey and Logan Eighmey of Barrington, N.H., Brianna Shaw and Taylor Wormser of Terra Haute, Ind. and Shae and Ian Michaud of Presque Isle; also special sisters-in-law, Mildred (Browning) Graves of Mars Hill and Rilla Browning of Connecticut; a special friend, Betty Mahan and all of her friends and the staff at Aroostook Healthcare Center, whom she loved very dearly. In addition to her husband, Norman, she was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth York, Mary Browning and Lucy Plourde; her brothers, John, William and Bradford Browning; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Eighmey and a very special grandson, LCPL Norman R. McPherson Jr., U.S. Marine Corps. Relatives and friends may call 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Duncan Funeral Home on Main Street, Mars Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. Interment will be in the family plot at Pierce Cemetery in Mars Hill.
