NEWPORT – John E. Wilson, 62, died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2005, at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1942, at Newport, R.I., son of Charles and Mary (Canfield) Wilson. Jack moved to Maine with his family in 1984. He started working with the Town of Newport Public Works Department in 1987, and shortly became department head, retiring in Oct. 2004. Jack was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Budge) Wilson of Newport; a son, John Cary Wilson of Newport; a daughter and husband, Dana and Thomas Corrigan of Seattle, Wash.; his loving companion, Brenda Baker, and her children, Samuel and Sarah Baker; a brother, David and wife, Kathy Wilson, of Intervale, N.H.; a sister, Maureen Wilson of Newtown, Conn.; and a grandson, Cory Wren Wilson. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday Feb. 26, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, with Pastor Al H.
