JASPER, Ala., and HOULTON – James E. Currie Jr., 63, died March 21, 2008, in Jasper, Ala. He was born June 12, 1941, in Houlton, the son of James Sr. and Anna (Bragan) Currie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by two sons, Robert and Jimmy; four grandchildren; one brother, Charles W. Currie of Houlton; and close family friends, Bobbie and Jim Knope, who took care of my brother as their own. He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Robert. Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with funeral services being held 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. A time of fellowship will be held afterward. A spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors.
