WINTERPORT – Kent M. Newey, 71, died peacefully at home Aug. 5, 2005. He was born Nov. 15, 1933, the son of Frank A. and Ruth (Manson) Newey. After attending the University of Maine, Kent took part in operating the family poultry farm in Winterport. In 1977, he earned his master electrician’s license and worked construction in various capacities. When he retired, he was project manager in Maine for The Newport Co., out of Connecticut. He was a former member of the Maine Army National Guard and several Masonic orders. Kent is survived by his wife and best friend, Reva; two children, a daughter, Bonnie, and her husband, Randy Mace, of Orono; a son, Glen A. Newey, and his extended family Patty and Jenna, of Winterport; two granddaughters, Felicia LeVasseur, of Florida, and Kate LeVasseur, of Old Town; and his namesake great-grandson, Felicia’s son, Kent Everett, of Florida. Kent will be sorely missed by the family pets. At Kent’s request, there will be no formal services but friends are invited to share memories with the family at an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, 1602 North Main St., Winterport.
