TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Margaret E. Petrie, 107, died Saturday, April 12, 2008. She was born in 1901, in a home built by her father on the Eames property on Lincoln Street, Bangor. At the age of 17, she went into training to be a nurse, and at 27, she met and married Herold Petrie, who managed the local paper mill. After Herold died in 1968, she moved to Hattiesburg, Miss., to be near her family, and then in 1983 to Tallahassee, Fla. She is survived by one nephew, Richard Chase of Princeton, Mass.; two nieces, Marilyn Kennedy of Tallahassee, Fla., and Priscilla Wilson of Silver Springs, Fla.; a multitude of great-nieces and great-nephews, up to five generations. She was predeceased by her husband, mother, father and siblings. A private family service will be held at a later date.
