MELVIN M. DAVIS MILFORD – Melvin Moulton Davis, 78, passed away after a long illness, Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born in Lamoine March 25, 1926, son of the late Moulton M. and Agnes (Holz) Davis. Melvin graduated from Orono High School at the age of 64. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and served at Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Old Town VFW Post 3381 and the Marine Corps League Dept. 1151 of Bangor. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Constance M. Davis of Milford; one daughter, Rose M. Doucette; one granddaughter, Shannon E. Doucette of Milford; three sisters, Elizabeth Meucci and her husband, William, of Bangor, Joan Wiles and her husband, James, of Hermon, Nancy Gonzales and her husband, Fai, of Hermon; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Vigue and his wife, Sandra, of Largo, Fla., Frank Vigue of Milo; two sisters-in-law, Yvette Herbert and her husband, Arthur, of Passadumkeag, Deanna Vigue Libby of Milo; many nieces, nephews, several grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Morrill and Eileen Cecil; two aunts and uncles, Lucy and Ralph Atkinson, Jess and Marion Miles. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish in Old Town with the Rev. Normand Richard celebrant. Friends and family are invited to the Holy Family Parish Hall immediately following the mass for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
