BANGOR and CALAIS Nicholas “Nik” Hayward Armstrong, 24, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004. Nik was born Aug. 20, 1980 in Calais, the son of Gary W. Armstrong and Marcia L. Hayward. He attended and graduated from local schools and was working as an electrician’s assistant for New Horizons Technology in Rhode Island. Nik was predeceased by his father, Gary W. Armstrong; and his maternal grandfather, Clinton Hayward Sr. Surviving him are his mother, Marcia L. Hayward, of Calais; a sister, Tanya Brazil, of Cutler; a special child, Kalob Moody; a maternal grandmother, Ruth D. Hayward, of Calais; a paternal aunt, Carrie Shaw; maternal aunts and uncles, Betty-Jean Bisson of Minneapolis, Minn., Janet Yardley of Calais, Karel McKay of Boston, Mass., Debbie Hancock of Calais, and Clinton Hayward Jr. of Winslow; three nieces, Mikayla, Katrina, and Chelsea Oakes of Cutler; friend Jessica McArthur of Calais; and his best friend, Scooby Doo. Friends may visit 1-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais until the memorial service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Keith Moody officiating. A burial will follow at the Calais Cemetery.
