HOLDEN – Paul F. O’Connor, 75, husband of Barbara (Sheehan) O’Connor, died peacefully March 14, 2007, with his family at his home. He was born May 25, 1931, in Brewer, the son of Frank J. and Helena A. (O’Neil) O’Connor. Paul was a longtime resident of Brewer until moving to Holden seven years ago. He was a 1949 graduate of Brewer High School, and was employed in sales for many years by Bangor Candy Co., Morin Tobacco, and Pine State Tobacco. Paul was also an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, for many years. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Holden, are two children, Anne Marie Newton and her husband, Fred, of Chesapeake, Va., and Elizabeth Anne Bissell of Sullivan; four grandchildren, Mark Bissell of Sullivan, Samantha, Kayla and Mary Newton, all of Chesapeake, Va.; one great-grandchild, Rhianna Bissell of Sullivan; one brother, Timothy O’Connor and his wife, Noreen, of Cape Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Annette Hogan. Family and friends may visit 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
