TOWN HILL – Paul L. Higgins, 78, died Dec. 7, 2004, in Bar Harbor. He was born March 9, 1926, in Indian Point, Bar Harbor, the son of Elmer M. and Addie M. (Murphy) Higgins. He was a staff sergeant during the Korean War. Paul was employed at First National Stores in Kittery and Hartford, Conn. for 15 years. He purchased the Rose Eden Cabins in Salisbury Cove, which he ran with his wife. He also owned and operated his painting and wall papering business for many years. He and his wife enjoyed camping Downeast. Paul was treasurer for 20 years and a member for more than 40 years of the Mt. Desert Masonic Lodge 140 AF & AM. He is survived by his brother, Elmer Jr. and wife, Bertha of Town Hill; stepson, Daniel Alexander and wife, Diane of New York; step-grandson, Nolan of California; one niece, Diane Berger and and her husband, Gerold of Germany and their children; one nephew, Paul Higgins and wife, Beth of Bath and their children; many cousins and one aunt and his dog, Gretchen. At Paul’s request, donations may be made in his memory to the Mt. Desert Masonic Lodge No. 140, AF & AM, Mt. Desert, ME 04660. Graveside memorial services will be announced.
