HOULTON, Maine — Members of the Houlton Police Department and the Maine State Police are conducting a joint investigation following a call to a stabbing early Tuesday morning.

According to Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin, the call came in at 6 a.m. Tuesday and involved two adult males at a residence on Maliseet Drive.

Asselin said one male was transported by ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital and subsequently taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The conditions and identities of the two males involved were not released to the media.

No further details were available Tuesday afternoon.
