BANGOR, Maine — State Police say they will be escorting two tractor trailers transporting large wind turbine blades from Searsport to Houlton on Tuesday which are likely to cause some traffic tie-ups. Because of a low overpass along Interstate 95 in Bangor, the convoy will be traveling through Bangor on Odlin Road to Hammond and State Streets and Hogan Road before heading north on the interstate to Houlton.

The escort will start in Searsport along Routes 1 and 1A about 8 a.m. and the turbines will be making their way through Bangor about mid-morning. The turbine blades’ final destination are the Canadian Maritimes.
